fantástica: A integração da Sociedade
Civil, na vida de pessoas portadoras de
deficiência intelectual…
Através de todos nós, e em especial,

Juntar num único evento o voluntariado desportivo e o voluntariado social, é
coisa rara. Esta será certamente uma oportunidade única para os voluntários
que ainda não conhecem os nossos heróis.
Sendo certo, que a formação através de experiências empíricas tem um
impacto profundo no desenvolvimento dos jovens; Sendo certo, que a
participar como voluntário é adquirir novas competências. Promover a
formação de personalidades e caracteres é algo em que acreditamos e
fazemos com gosto!
E por isso, a Organização deste Campeonato não podia avançar sem os
VOLUNTÁRIOS. Os voluntários, vão poder participar em tarefas de apoio às
Equipas, à Acreditação, aos Escritórios E Logística, ao apoio aos árbitros, aos
médicos, aos Media, ao público em geral, entre outras.

The 2009 Special Olympics European Football Tournament will, in addition to
its specific aim of integrating individuals with intellectual deficiency into Civil
Society (through the practice of Sport), also achieve another equal or more
fantastic feat: The integration of Civil Society into the life of people who pos-
sess intellectual deficiency…
Through all of us, and in particular, through the participation of
VOLUNTEERS!
Joining together voluntary work in the sporting and social areas is a rare thing.
This will certainly be a singular opportunity for volunteers who have not yet
met our heroes.
We are certain that actual experiences create a strong impact in the
development of young people. We are certain that acting as a volunteer brings
with it new competencies. Helping to shape personalities and characters is
something that we believe in and gladly carry out!
And as such, the Organisation of these Championships cannot go ahead
without VOLUNTEERS.
Volunteers can join in the tasks by providing support to the Teams,
Accreditation, to the E Logistical Offices, and also providing support to the
referees, the doctors, the Media, and the public in general.

SO – ACOMODAÇÃO E ALIMENTAÇÃO
Dar dormida e comida a 24 selecções oriundas dos 4 cantos da Europa,
são tarefas que desafiam a nossa capacidade de organização.
Vamos acomodar as selecções, aproximadamente 312 pessoas, entre
atletas, treinadores e técnicos, nas Pousadas da Juventude contando
para isso com o apoio da Movijovem.
São cerca de 1600 diárias para os 5 dias de competição.
A Pousada de Lisboa vai acolher 8 equipas, Parque das Nações e
Almada 6 equipas e Catalazete 4 equipas.
Dadas as diversidades linguísticas, culturais e geográficas das
diferentes equipas, procurámos fazer a respectiva alocação tendo em
conta estes factores mas não descurando nunca, a troca de experiências
e o convívio que se estabelece num evento desta natureza entre os
diversos participantes.

SO – ACCOMODATION AND FOOD
To provide food and accommodation to 24 selections coming from the 4
corners of Europe is a task which certainly challenges our organisational ability.
We will be providing accommodation to approximately 312 people,
including athletes, trainers and technical support teams, in Youth Hostels
through the support of Movijovem.
This will be equivalent to about 1600 daily stays altogether for the 5 days
of competition.
The Lisbon Youth Hostel will house 8 teams, Parque das Nações and
Almada 6 teams and Catalazete 4 teams.
Given the linguistic, cultural and geographical variety within the different
teams, we have tried to place them taking into account these factors
without for one moment neglecting the exchange of experiences and

volunteers, drivers, etc.
We are talking about supplying around 10 000 meals during the
competition, including breakfast, hot meals, or supplementary snacks.
Enthusiasm is great and our eagerness increases!
