O curso visa a uma discussão das práticas de adaptação e apropriação de textos canônicos em língua inglesa produzidos no século XIX,
cuja atualização e “sobrevida” são asseguradas, em parte, por sua utilização constante não só pela ficção, mas também por mídias como
cinema e televisão. Haverão discussões em grupo, apresentações orais e tarefas avaliativas.

We will read poetry, fiction and some drama, including (parts of) works by Jane Austen, Charles Dickens, Nathaniel Hawthorne, Edgar
Allan Poe, Mary Shelley, along with its adaptations and appropriations for cinema, television and internet.
