Interpretation is a skill that is difficult to use to its fullest extent, as it requires
extensive practice and knowledge of metaphorical language, so understanding
the meaning behind this text is no different. The first noticeable detail is the title
"The Road Not Taken", which within the context of the text could be a summary
of its contents, which are about a person who treads their own path in life, which
leads to their happiness. The initial paragraphs categorize two paths with foliage
that reflected the amount of times people walked over it, with one of them being
more worn than the other, and the relatively untouched one was chosen
because it seemed to the narrator to have a unique experience when compared
to the other one, which would make a difference later in his life. By choosing this
road, he chose to stick to a different path than most others followed, thus
proportioning him with different experiences and potential life choices with both
paths only converging at the very end. This metaphor for life is something that
should be encouragement to break the norm and experiment new things
differently than most other people, essentially creating a new path and a
