Procedimento de Remoção
Começar por:

A. Ligue o bloqueio da estrutura da direção. Consulte Desmontagem e Montagem, "Bloqueio da Estrutura

da Direção - Separar e Conectar" para o procedimento adequado.

O combustível vazado ou derramado em superfícies quentes ou

componentes elétricos pode causar um incêndio. Para ajudar a evitar
possíveis ferimentos, desligue a chave de partida ao trocar os filtros de
combustível ou os elementos do separador de água. Limpe os
derramamentos de combustível imediatamente.

AVISO PRÉVIO
Deve-se tomar cuidado para assegurar que os fluidos sejam contidos
durante a execução da inspeção, manutenção, teste, ajuste e reparo do
produto. Esteja preparado para recolher o fluido com recipientes
adequados antes de abrir qualquer compartimento ou desmontar
qualquer componente que contenha fluidos.

Consulte a publicação especial, NENG2500, "Guia de produtos e

ferramentas da Caterpillar" para obter ferramentas e suprimentos
adequados para coletar e conter fluidos dos produtos da Caterpillar.

Elimine todos os fluidos de acordo com os regulamentos e mandatos

locais.

Note: Put identification marks on all lines, hoses, wires, and tubes for installation purposes. Plug all lines,
hoses, and tubes in order to prevent fluid loss and contamination of the fuel system.

1. Open the right door.

2. Open drain plug (3) and drain the fuel into a suitable container.

Note: Properly dispose of this old fuel. Do not reuse the old fuel in the new water separator.

3. Unscrew retaining ring (1). Remove water separator (2). Remove the sediment bowl. Clean the
sediment bowl. Remove the two O-rings.

4. Disconnect fuel lines (5) and (6) .

5. Remove two bolts (4) .

6. Remove water separator base (7) .

Installation Procedure

Fuel leaked or spilled onto hot surfaces or electrical components can

cause a fire. To help prevent possible injury, turn the start switch off
when changing fuel filters or water separator elements. Clean up fuel
spills immediately.

NOTICE
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during
performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair
of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers
before opening any compartment or disassembling any component
containing fluids.

Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop

Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain
fluids on Caterpillar products.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Note: Put identification marks on all lines, hoses, wires, and tubes for installation purposes. Plug all lines,
hoses, and tubes in order to prevent fluid loss and contamination of the fuel system.

1. Place water separator base (7) in position.

2. Install two bolts (4) to a torque of 55 + 1 - 10 N·m (41 + 1 - 7 lb ft).

3. Connect fuel lines (5) and (6) to a torque of 13 ± 1 N·m (10 ± 1 lb ft).

Note: Clean the filter base. Install the two O-rings. Install the sediment bowl hand tight.

4. Place water separator (2) in position. Tighten retaining ring (1) by hand only.

5. Ensure that drain plug (3) is closed.

6. Remove the air from the fuel system. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, SENR5025, "Remove Air From
The Fuel System" for fuel system information.

7. Feche a porta da direita.
