ABSTRACT
Cancer is a public health problem that affects people from all over the world. The
terminal cancer patient is in a state of emotional disorder, having to deal with
suffering, and still face the end of life. The general objective of this study was to
describe the importance of nursing care in oncologic emergencies to terminal
patients in the face of palliative care. This is a qualitative, descriptive, bibliographic
study using the Electronic Databases, Scientific Electronic Library Online (SCIELO),
PUBMED - National Library of Medicine (NLM), LILACS - Latin American and
Caribbean Literature on Health Sciences , MEDLINE- Medical Literature Analysisand
Retrieval System Online. The inclusion criterion was published in the last 5 years
(2013-2018). The results show that nursing care in oncological emergencies with
terminal patients is extremely relevant since palliative care humanized form will bring
the patient and his family comfort in the face of the aggressive situation they face.It is
concluded that it is necessary to expand new academic and scientific studies on the
subject in question, as well as, the nursing care in the Therapy Unit Intensive Care
Unit (ICU) needs to be qualified, with high complexity care and supportive and that
the State must create public policies that enable and offer a dignified, holistic and
humanized care to the patient in the final phase, aim at physical, psychological and
spiritual comfor
1. NTRODUÇÃO
indivíduos com pré- disposição para desenvolver a doença (WARD, 2002), embora
este seja um método caro que ainda não está disponível para a o grande público. Na
rotina clínica, o diagnóstico depende do tipo de câncer, e pode envolver diferentes
técnicas como endoscopia, exames de imagem, histopatologia, citologia e outros
exames laboratoriais. A detecção precoce do câncer aumenta expressivamente as
chances de cura, principalmente em alguns tipos como câncer de mama, boca, pele,
entre outros. Isto destaca a importância do reconhecimento dos sintomas pelo
paciente e a busca por atendimento médico rápido (OMS, 2002).
Dada a sua complexidade e dezenas de tipos diferentes, o tratamento do câncer
ainda representa um desafio e diversas pesquisas têm sido realizadas no intuito de
descobrir novas terapias farmacológicas eficientes e seguras (HIRSCHBERGER et
al., 2017; BASSAN et al., 2018). Os esquemas quimioterápicos utilizados atualmente
são eficazes para alguns tipos de câncer, principalmente quando é realizado o
diagnóstico precoce, havendo boas chances de remissão total (VIEIRA et al., 2012).
Entretanto, os agentes antineoplásicos disponíveis clinicamente causam efeitos
adversos que podem ser extremamente desagradáveis ao paciente, como cansaço,
dor, diarreia e vômitos (SOARES et al., 2009). A agressividade do tratamento,
somada ao sofrimento inerente à doença, leva o paciente a um estado de fragilidade
física e emocional. Nesse contexto, é essencial a devida prestação dos cuidados
paliativos, com o objetivo de reduzir ao máximo o sofrimento do paciente,
aumentando sua qualidade de vida.
