This‌‌page‌‌provides‌‌an‌‌overview‌‌of‌‌the‌‌current‌‌approach‌‌to‌‌distributing‌‌Sites‌‌and‌‌Landmarks‌‌across‌‌

Land‌‌Plots‌‌of‌‌different‌‌tiers.‌‌All‌‌details‌‌are‌‌subject‌‌to‌‌change.‌  ‌

Overview‌  ‌
The‌‌rarity‌‌of‌‌a‌‌land‌p ‌ lot‌i‌s‌‌separated‌‌into‌‌a‌‌number‌‌of‌‌tiers‌‌based‌‌on‌‌features‌‌on‌‌the‌‌land.‌  ‌
 ‌
These‌‌features‌‌are:‌‌the‌‌number‌‌of‌E ‌ lement‌‌Sites‌p ‌ er‌‌tier,‌‌the‌‌number‌‌of‌F‌ uel‌‌Sites‌p
‌ er‌‌tier,‌‌

the‌‌presence‌‌or‌‌absence‌‌of‌‌a‌L ‌ andmark‌o ‌ n‌‌a‌‌plot,‌‌and‌‌the‌‌class‌‌of‌‌the‌‌Landmark‌‌on‌‌a‌‌plot.‌  ‌
 ‌
Like‌‌all‌‌things‌‌in‌‌Illuvium‌‌we‌‌use‌‌a‌‌5‌‌Tier‌‌model‌‌from‌‌1‌‌-‌‌5‌‌(excluding‌‌Tier‌‌0‌‌“Virtual‌‌Land”).‌  ‌
 ‌

   ‌
What‌‌is‌‌the‌‌composition‌‌of‌‌a‌‌Plot‌‌of‌‌Land?‌  ‌
A‌‌land‌‌NFT‌‌or‌P
‌ lot‌‌‌can‌‌contain,‌‌as‌‌part‌‌of‌‌the‌‌NFT‌‌data,‌‌any‌‌of‌‌the‌‌following‌‌components:‌‌

Element‌‌Site,‌‌Fuel‌‌Site,‌‌Landmark.‌  ‌

Element‌‌Site‌  ‌
An‌‌Element‌‌Site‌‌is‌‌a‌‌site‌‌tied‌‌to‌‌one‌‌of‌‌the‌‌three‌‌basic‌‌resources‌‌(aka‌‌Elements)‌‌as‌‌per‌‌the‌‌

following‌‌table:‌  ‌
 ‌
Element‌  ‌ Site‌‌name‌  ‌

Carbon‌  ‌ Outcrop‌  ‌

Silicon‌  ‌ Crystal‌‌Deposit‌  ‌

Hydrogen‌  ‌ Lake‌  ‌
 ‌
All‌‌element‌‌sites‌‌are‌‌of‌‌equal‌‌rarity,‌‌although‌‌market‌‌conditions‌‌may‌‌mean‌‌their‌‌relative‌‌

value‌‌fluctuates‌‌over‌‌time.‌  ‌

Fuel‌‌Site‌  ‌
A‌‌Fuel‌‌Site‌‌is‌‌a‌‌site‌‌tied‌‌to‌‌one‌‌of‌‌the‌‌three‌‌ERC20‌‌resources‌‌(aka‌‌Fuels)‌‌as‌‌per‌‌the‌‌

following‌‌table:‌  ‌
 ‌
Element‌  ‌ Site‌‌Name‌  ‌

Crypton‌  ‌ Crypton‌‌Rift‌  ‌

Hyperion‌  ‌ Hyperion‌‌Reservoir‌  ‌

Solon‌  ‌ Solon‌‌Trench‌  ‌
 ‌
 ‌
All‌‌fuel‌‌sites‌‌are‌‌of‌‌equal‌‌rarity,‌‌although‌‌market‌‌conditions‌‌may‌‌mean‌‌their‌‌relative‌‌value‌‌

fluctuates‌‌over‌‌time.‌  ‌
 ‌

   ‌
Landmark‌  ‌
 ‌
A‌‌Landmark‌‌is‌‌a‌‌special‌‌structure‌‌found‌‌on‌‌higher‌‌tier‌‌lands‌‌that‌‌grants‌‌some‌‌unique‌‌ability‌‌

or‌‌property.‌‌Landmarks‌‌are‌‌broken‌‌into‌‌three‌‌classes,‌‌and‌‌within‌‌this‌‌class‌‌may‌‌be‌‌further‌‌
subdivided‌‌into‌‌specific‌‌types:‌  ‌
 ‌
 ‌
Landmark‌‌Class‌  ‌ Landmark‌  ‌ Special‌‌Properties‌  ‌

Element‌‌Landmark‌  ‌ <Not‌‌Yet‌‌Named>‌‌
  Increases‌‌Carbon‌‌production‌‌and‌‌reduces‌‌

 ‌ (Carbon)‌  ‌ losses‌‌when‌‌converting‌‌to‌‌Carbon.‌  ‌
(Tier‌‌3)‌  ‌
<Not‌‌Yet‌‌Named>‌‌
  Increases‌‌Silicon‌‌production‌‌and‌‌reduces‌‌
(Silicon)‌  ‌ losses‌‌when‌‌converting‌‌to‌‌Silicon‌‌. ‌ ‌

Eternal‌‌Spring‌  ‌ Increases‌‌Hydrogen‌‌production‌‌and‌‌reduces‌‌

losses‌‌when‌‌converting‌‌to‌‌Hydrogen‌‌. ‌ ‌

Fuel‌‌Landmark‌  ‌ <Not‌‌Yet‌‌Named>‌‌
  Increases‌‌Crypton‌‌production‌‌and‌‌reduces‌‌

 ‌ (Crypton)‌  ‌ losses‌‌when‌‌converting‌‌to‌‌Crypton.‌  ‌
(Tier‌‌4)‌  ‌
<Not‌‌Yet‌‌Named>‌‌
  Increases‌‌Hyperion‌‌production‌‌and‌‌reduces‌‌

(Hyperion)‌  ‌ losses‌‌when‌‌converting‌‌to‌‌Hyperion.‌  ‌

Fallen‌‌Star‌  ‌ Increases‌‌Solon‌‌production‌‌and‌‌reduces‌‌

losses‌‌when‌‌converting‌‌to‌‌Solon.‌  ‌

Arena‌  ‌ Arena‌  ‌ The‌‌arena‌‌is‌‌an‌‌extremely‌‌rare‌‌landmark‌‌(one‌‌

 ‌ per‌‌region)‌‌that‌‌will‌‌be‌‌used‌‌to‌‌host‌‌

(Tier‌‌5)‌  ‌ tournaments‌‌and‌‌provide‌‌amazing‌‌
opportunities‌‌for‌‌revenue‌‌generation,‌‌
advertisements,‌‌VR‌‌content‌‌and‌‌so‌‌on.‌‌
Detailed‌‌discussion‌‌of‌‌the‌‌Arenas‌‌is‌‌out‌‌of‌‌

scope‌‌for‌‌this‌‌document.‌  ‌
 ‌
A‌‌plot‌‌can‌‌only‌‌have‌‌0‌‌or‌‌1‌‌Landmarks.‌‌It‌‌is‌‌not‌‌possible‌‌to‌‌have‌‌two‌‌or‌‌more‌‌landmarks‌‌on‌‌a ‌‌
single‌‌plot.‌  ‌

   ‌
Number‌‌of‌‌Sites‌‌and‌‌Landmarks‌‌per‌‌Tier‌  ‌
 ‌
Land‌‌Tier‌  ‌ #‌‌of‌‌Element‌‌Sites‌  ‌ #‌‌of‌‌Fuel‌‌Sites‌  ‌ Landmark‌‌Class‌  ‌

Tier‌‌1 ‌ ‌ 3‌  ‌ 1‌  ‌ None‌  ‌

Tier‌‌2 ‌ ‌ 6‌  ‌ 3‌  ‌ None‌  ‌

Tier‌‌3 ‌ ‌ 9‌  ‌ 6‌  ‌ Element‌‌Landmark‌‌(1)‌  ‌

Tier‌‌4 ‌ ‌ 12‌  ‌ 9‌  ‌ Fuel‌‌Landmark‌‌(1)‌  ‌

Tier‌‌5 ‌ ‌ 15‌  ‌ 12‌  ‌ Arena‌‌(1)‌  ‌

 ‌
The‌‌number‌‌of‌‌sites‌‌and‌‌landmarks‌‌per‌‌tier‌‌is‌‌fixed,‌‌but‌‌the‌‌type‌‌of‌‌these‌‌sites‌‌and‌
landmarks‌‌can‌‌vary.‌‌For‌‌example‌‌one‌‌Tier‌‌1‌‌site‌‌may‌‌have‌‌one‌‌of‌‌each‌‌Element‌‌Site‌‌or‌‌it‌‌
may‌‌have‌‌3‌‌Lakes.‌  ‌
 ‌
The‌‌probability‌‌of‌‌any‌‌given‌‌site‌‌filling‌‌any‌‌given‌‌‘slot’‌‌is‌‌~33%‌‌(it‌‌is‌‌a‌‌choice‌‌of‌‌1‌‌in‌‌3),‌‌and‌‌

does‌‌not‌‌depend‌‌on‌‌the‌‌other‌‌sites‌‌already‌‌on‌‌the‌‌land.‌‌This‌‌means,‌‌for‌‌example,‌‌it‌‌is‌‌
unlikely,‌‌but‌‌possible,‌‌that‌‌a‌‌Tier‌‌4‌‌land‌‌would‌‌have‌‌all‌‌12‌‌of‌‌its‌‌Element‌‌sites‌‌be‌‌of‌‌the‌‌same‌‌
type.‌  ‌

What‌‌is‌‌known‌‌before‌‌purchase?‌  ‌
 ‌
When‌‌you‌‌purchase‌‌a‌‌land‌‌you‌‌will‌‌know‌‌its‌‌Grid‌‌Position‌‌(location‌‌on‌‌the‌‌map),‌‌the‌‌Region‌‌
it‌‌belongs‌‌to‌‌and‌‌also‌‌its‌‌Tier‌‌level.‌‌You‌‌will‌n
‌ ot‌k‌ now‌‌the‌‌exact‌‌sites‌‌that‌‌are‌‌on‌‌the‌‌land‌‌or‌‌

the‌‌position‌‌of‌‌the‌‌sites‌‌on‌‌the‌‌land,‌‌these‌‌are‌‌generated‌‌upon‌‌minting.‌  ‌

Position‌‌of‌‌Sites‌‌inside‌‌of‌‌the‌‌Land‌‌Plot‌  ‌
 ‌
Each‌‌Site‌‌has‌‌an‌‌immutable‌‌physical‌‌position‌‌in‌‌the‌‌grid‌‌inside‌‌of‌‌the‌‌Land‌‌Plot.‌‌This‌‌data‌‌is‌‌
written‌‌to‌‌the‌‌NFT‌‌when‌‌it‌‌is‌‌minted.‌‌A‌‌Landmark‌‌is‌‌always‌‌at‌‌the‌‌centre‌‌of‌‌the‌‌grid.‌‌Sites‌‌are‌‌

distributed‌‌randomly,‌‌with‌‌the‌‌only‌‌constraints‌‌being‌‌that‌‌they‌‌can’t‌‌overlap‌‌and‌‌that‌‌there‌‌
must‌‌be‌‌at‌‌least‌‌a‌‌1‌‌grid‌‌square‌‌boundary‌‌around‌‌each‌‌Site.‌  ‌
 ‌

Tier‌‌0‌‌-‌‌Virtual‌‌Land‌  ‌
 ‌
Tier‌‌0‌‌Land‌‌is‌‌free‌‌land‌‌that‌‌is‌‌not‌‌connected‌‌to‌‌the‌‌blockchain.‌‌This‌‌land‌‌would‌‌be‌‌similar‌‌in‌‌

makeup‌‌to‌‌Tier‌‌2‌‌land‌‌and‌‌will‌‌give‌‌players‌‌an‌‌ability‌‌to‌‌fully‌‌explore‌‌and‌‌play‌‌the‌‌game‌‌but‌‌

without‌‌any‌‌earning‌‌potential.‌  ‌
