Higienização Peças Têxteis

Procedimentos
• Depois dos têxteis terem sido examinados e
documentados, pode-se fazer uma
higienização mecânica superficial
 a) Aspiração
• Esta higienização mecânica é feita inicialmente
com um aspirador. Pode-se usar um tule preso à
boca do aspirador, ou o tule cobrindo a peça para
aspirar por cima. Isso evita que se aspire algum
fragmento, detalhe ou botão da peça, e por isso
também é importante ter um aspirador com
controle de sucção.

• Esta ação inicial se faz necessária para retirar

insetos, e na sequência uma higienização a úmido
para que a água não fique tão suja.

 b) Lavagem
• É um trabalho muito delicado e cuidadoso, pois as fibras e
cores são muito delicadas. É importante fazer uma avaliação
para saber se a peça irá resistir a lavagem. Partes rasgadas,
por exemplo, devem ser protegidas com um tule por cima e
por baixo da peça, garantindo que a água (sua força é muito
agressiva) não lavar partes avariadas.

The three deep flounces of the skirt were increasingly
dirty towards the hem. The discolouration from the
original cream to ‘yellowy-brown’ is due to a combination
of cellulose degradation and carbon soiling.
In the wash! The dress was cleaned using
conservation grade detergent, for a total of 2½
hours.
The dress was then rinsed for nearly 4 hours! Rinsing
must be carried out thoroughly as if any detergent
residue is left un-rinsed the rate of future re-soiling is
considerably increased.

hand held dryers, while
the front and back
flounces of the skirt were
gradually lifted in stages
using an adjustable bar.
Before washing - the hem is particularly grey.
After - brighter and whiter!
