 O que é
eletronegatividade?
• "É a capacidade que os átomos de determinado
elemento possuem para atrair elétrons" ou "força de
atração exercida sobre os elétrons de uma ligação".

• "Ela acontece quando o átomo está numa ligação

química covalente, ou seja, no compartilhamento de um
ou mais pares de elétrons."
 O que é
eletronegatividade?
• O que a determina é a capacidade do núcleo atômico
para atrair elétrons vizinhos. A partir daí, segundo a
Teoria de Octeto, são formadas moléculas estáveis.

• A eletronegatividade é considerada a propriedade

mais importante da tabela periódica. Devido o fato de
ela induzir o comportamento dos átomos.
