Socorro recebeu o ttulo de Estncia Sanitria em 1945 por suas guas conterem qualidades medicinais. Essas caractersticas auxiliam em diversos tratamentos, como melhora do tnus corporal, baixa de presso arterial, efeito diurtico, eliminao de cido rico e clculos renais, entre outros males. Para realizar esses tratamentos a cidade possui o balnerio que conta com sauna completa, banho de imerso, banho de espuma, forno de Beer, chuveiro agulha, infra-vermelho e ducha escocesa.
