1. Acrescentamos –er/-est aos cheap cheaper than the cheapest
adjectivos monossilábicos. near nearer than the nearest

Acrescentamos –r/-st aos late later than the latest

adjectivos que terminam em –e.

2. Os adjectivos monossilábicos big bigger than the biggest

que terminem numa vogal e hot hotter than the hottest

nós dobramos a última wet wetter than the wettest

Monossilábicos: que tem uma só sílaba;

Dissilábicos: formado de duas sílabas;
Polissilábicos: diz-se da palavra formada por mais de duas sílabas;
Vogal: a, e, i, o, u.
Consoantes: b, c, d, f, g, h, j, k, l, m, n, p, q, r, s, t, v, w, x, y, z.
