ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: The aim of the present study was to analyze the adequability of FMS in prediction of
injury tendency and as a direction program tool to prevent injury risk agents in militaries in operations
of Support Governmental Agencies. METHODS: The sample was composed by 101 Brazilian Army
officers arising from different Military Organizations, who answered the questionnaire with their
experiences commanding subunits or platoon on Haiti Peace Mission (MINUSTAH), on Arcanjo
Operation (Complexo do Alemão – RJ) or on São Francisco Operation (Complexo da Maré –RJ).
RESULTS: In this study, it was observed that only 32,67% of sample realized a specific physical
preparation to the operation that they participated and that 70,3% presented pain or injury resulting
from the operations. It wasn’t found reference to any program to prevent injury risk agents in
operations of Support Governmental Agencies. CONCLUSION: The results demonstrated how
necessary is the urgent inclusion of a physical training program, orientated to reduction of injury risk
agents in operations of Support Governmental Agencies. It was identified the FMS as a valuated
method that can be extremely viable and useful in the identification of persons which presenting a
bigger tendency to injury in operations. Furthermore, it provide an orientation to an intervention, aimed
to minimize the possibility of incidence of physical problems, allowed with this, a preventive work,
avoiding loses with activities dismissal and the utilization of medical care.

ser fatores de risco de lesões (LETAFATKAR et al., 2014; NARDUCCI et al., 2011;
PEATE et al., 2007).
