Summary

At first, the Romans came to the territory that is now the city of London. Before them was a group of people who have lived in these lands but there are few historical artifacts that explain more about these people. The name London comes from Londinium, which was given by the Romans. They built simple houses and towers, developing the region, which was located near the river Thames. With the construction of a bridge over the Thames many ships came by sea, making the city bigger and bigger. Londinium was a rich city with many monuments and which involved 50,000 people at that time. In 400 AD the Romans left the city and it was empty, abandoned and with its old buildings. With the invasion of the Danish soldiers more monuments were destroyed. In the kingdom of Alfred were the expulsion of the Danish and the rebuilding of the city. In the kingdom of William the Conqueror, was the continued rebuilding of the city, with the creation of the Tower of London. Soon after William came the kingdom of Henry VIII, famous king of England who picked a fight with the Catholic Church. In the kingdom of Henry VIII, London's population increased considerably, but housing conditions remained poor. The Great Plague and the London fire decimated much of the population at that time. The current situation is different, London became a great city with many sights. A quick and easy way to visit these points is going underground, however, should be avoided for the rush hours in which many people are going to or coming from their work. The trips to the red buses are more pleasant and you can get an overview of London. The journey during one hour and a half, but you can climb off the bus or at home. There are other ways in which British black cabs and boat trips on the River Thames. Buckingham Palace is one of the main places of visitation in London. On it is the changing of the Royal Guard, an event that can be seen by everyone. In some seasons, you can visit some rooms of Buckingham Palace, as well as the Household Cavalry and the Tower of London, who is now a museum. You can see the Royal Crown jewels or visit the towers, White and Blood, and perhaps see the famous ravens. In Westminster, where is the English Parliament and there is the Big Ben, a great clock symbol of London. There are several parks and gardens that can be contemplated. Hyde Park is famous for Speakers Conner, people who use speakers to express themselves, in Kensington Gardens is a famous statue of Peter Pan, there are other parks famous for natural beauty.

London is full of book stores, old or new, and markets selling antiques or things home with a cheap price. Another feature of this city are the famous restaurants and pubs. Theater and music are some entertainment options in London. In London's West End's there are the best theaters, so the tickets are expensive, but you can get them at a cheap price a few days of the week. To listen to quality music for the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden. The London Dungeon, a kind of museum of horrors, and wax statues from Madame Tussaud receive thousands of visitors a year. Among the major fashion shows for the Trooping the Colour, the Notting Hill Carnival and the parade for the inauguration of Mayor of the City. Comparing the cultural, sociological and historical links between England and Brazil we can see considerable differences, mainly because the British are more conservative. Brazilian culture is very diverse and heterogeneous, however, unlike London, the historical monuments preserved and are not as a part of the population does not care too much about the holidays in Brazil's history. As for the carnival in Notting Hill there is also the Brazilian Carnival, this is better known than that. Floats, communities united by a common purpose and fun are the characteristics of the carnival in Brazil. There are many theaters in Brazil, the best known is the Teatro Municipal de So Paulo. And the Orquestra Sinfnica Brasileira delights everyone with its compositions. As for parks, the Brazilian government is going to be concerned with the preservation of these, which is a plus point for maintaining the natural beauty of the country.
