Nick Drake was a Britsh folk rock musician most known by his acoustic recordings and pungent
poetic lyrics. He suffered from depression and insomnia, problems which influenced his work. Nick
released only three albums during his life time, of which two were mainly acoustic and only one
accompained by bass and drums – Bryter Layter. With a jazzy and more upbeat sound, Bryter
Layter keeps the poetic lyrics and incredible guitar work which were distinctive in Nick’s songs.
The piano and brass featured throughout the album only add to the beauty of songs like Hazey
Jane II, At The Chime Of a City Clock and Poor Boy. / Nick Drake foi um músico de folck rock
inglês mais conhecido por suas gravações acústicas e letras poéticas pungentes. Ele sofria de
depressão e insônia, problemas que influenciaram seu trabalho. Nick lançou apenas três álbuns em
vida, dos quais dois eram quase completamente acústicos e somente um acompanhado por baixo e
bateria - Bryter Layter. Com um som mais “jazzy” e otimista, Bryter Layter mantém as letras
poéticas e os incríveis arranjos de violão que eram característicos das canções de Nick. O piano e
os metais presentes ao longo do álbum apenas se acrescem à beleza de canções como Hazey Jane
II, At The Chime Of a City Clock e Poor Boy.

Nick’s work never got much attention, being only recognized five years after his death, in 1979,
with the release of the posthumous album Fruit Tree. Nick died from a overdose of amitriptyline
at his parents’ home, to which he had withdrew after his depression got so bad that he couldn’t go
on with his career anymore - the lack of success only added to his emotional problems. / O

Alright, this is not exactely a bootleg… ok, not a bootleg at all! BUT, it’s still a great early Byrds’
outtakes compilation, and has a bootleg feeling. As a member of Rateyourmusic.com said: “You
most certainly get what you expect - naiveness and inexperience mixed with talent, enthusiasm,
and, most importantly, jangle”. So, go ahead and have a taste of The Byrds’ beginning. / Tudo

A joint release of two albums by The Cadillacs, a doo-wop/rock’n’roll group formed as The
Carnations in 1952. The initial line-up was: Earl Carroll, Bobby Phillips, Lavern Drake, and Gus
Willingham. When the group started to record, James “Poppa” Clark joined them, and they
became The Cadillacs. Their first record was “Gloria”, released in 1954, but their first hit
was “Speedo”, which came out in 1955. In the years to come, other members would succeed. Due
to differences in opinion, The Cadillacs split and reformed many times. Carroll left them to join
The Coasters in 1963, and got back with The Cadillacs only in the 90’s. / Um lançamento conjunto
de dois álbuns dos Cadillacs, grupo de doo-wop/rock’n’roll formado como The Carnations em 1952.

John’s third studio album wasn’t much successful, peaking at #48 on Billboard 200 and on #11 in
the UK charts. Although highly influenced by Yoko Ono, it’s an interesting effort with protest
songs. “New York City” is one of HTD’s favourites. Disc 2 is a compilation of a live performance at
the Lyceum Ballroom, in London, from a UNICEF charity show with Eric Clapton, George Harrison
and Keith Moon, among others, and of performances with Frank Zappa and The Mothers Of
Invention recorded at the Filmore East in June 71./ O terceiro álbum de John não foi lá um grande
sucesso, tendo alcançado apenas a 48ª posição na Billboard 200 e a 11ª nas paradas inglesas.
Embora consideravelmente influenciado por Yoko Ono, trata-se de um trabalho interessante com
canções de protesto. “New York City” é uma das favoritas do HTD. O 2º Disco é uma compilação de
uma apresentação no Lyceum Ballroom, em Londres, de um concerto da UNICEF para a caridade

Red was the last recording by King Crimson of the 70’s and before Robert Fripp temporarily broke
up the band.€ It got only to #66 on Billboard and didn’t even made the UK charts. However, people
like Kurt Cobain have cited Red as a major influence, and musicologists Eric Tamm and Edward
Macan have claimed the album was the highlight of King Crimson career. Also, Q Magazine elected
Red the heaviest album of all time. Although HTD’s team are not experts, we can assure it is a
pearl. / Red foi a última gravação do King Crimson dos anos 70 e antes de Robert Fripp ter
desfeito o grupo temporariamente. Ele alcançou somente a 66ª posição da Billboard e sequer
entrou nas paradas de sucesso do Reino Unido. Entretanto, pessoas como Kurt Cobain afirmaram
que o álbum teve uma grande influência em seu trabalho, enquanto os musicólogos Eric Tamm e
