COMO APROVEITAR AO MÁXIMO SUA

GROUP CLASS

3. Para assistir a GROUP CLASS, você precisa instalar o app Zoom. O app está disponível para Win-
dows, iOS e Android.

IMPORTANTE: LIGUE SUA CÂMERA E SEU MICROFONE / TURN ON YOUR CAMERA AND MIC

Enjoy your Group Class!!!

For this activity, you will refresh vocabulary related to food.
*Tutor will share the material on screen*.

Remember that: regular COUNTABLE nouns are the ones that

you can count like 1, 2, 3, using numbers and that they take both
singular (original word) and plural form (word + s/es/ies). For
example: Tomato (only 1) or tomatoes (2 or more).

And, UNCOUNTABLE nouns are the ones that you cannot count
like 1, 2, and 3, using numbers because they may be the names for
abstract ideas or qualities or for physical objects that are too small
or too amorphous to be counted (liquids, powders, gases, etc.).
So, they do not take singular plural. For example: Water.

You will take turns reading each of the items on the list out loud,
one by one.

Your tutor will help you with your pronunciation. The first time, you will
read the name of the item. The second time, your tutor will say the
word. Be sure to listen to the tutor’s pronunciation! The third time,
the whole class will pronounce the word correctly with the tutor.

For example:
• Student A: Tomato.
• Tutor: Tomato
• All students: Tomato.

Then, we will talk about your food preferences using the structure:
Do do you like _________________?

For example:
• Student A: Do you like tomatoes?
• Student B: Yes, I do. Do you like to drink milk?
• Student C: No, I don’t. Do you like coffee?

SPEAK YOUR MIND

For this activity, you will take turns in order to make questions
with how much and how many, according to some food items
presented in the list below (countable and uncountable).
As you can see, you have to select a food item as a noun;
so that then, you can make a question with that same item.
Use the structure:

HOW + MUCH (for uncountable nouns) or MANY

(for countable nouns) + NOUN + Verb to BE
in Present Simple tense (IS or ARE) + THERE + ?

For example:
Eggs ➡ Question: How many eggs are there?
(“Eggs” is a countable noun in plural form).
