Amyloglucosidase from Aspergillus niger is
capable of hydrolyzing the α-D-(1-4), the α-D-
(1-6), and the α-D-(1-3) glucosidic bonds of
oligosaccharides. Amyloglucosidase is an
extracellular enzyme that converts starch to
dextrins and glucose. The enzyme is used in
the starch-processing industry for the
commercial production of D-glucose from corn
syrups.

High levels of LDL correlate
with a higher incidence of
atherosclerosis. This may be
because the liver is sending
too much cholesterol out
into the body. Thus LDL is
considered the "bad"
cholesterol.

Zygomycosis
Description:
The term zygomycosis describes in the broadest sense any infection due to a
member of the Zygomycetes. These are primitive, fast growing, terrestrial,
largely saprophytic fungi with a cosmopolitan distribution. To date, some 665
species have been described although infections in humans and animals are
generally rare. Medically important orders and genera include:
1. Mucorales, causing subcutaneous and systemic zygomycosis (Mucormycosis)
- Rhizopus, Mycocladus (Absidia), Rhizomucor, Mucor, Cunninghamella,
Saksenaea, Apophysomyces, Cokeromyces and Mortierella.

101
Rhizopus stolonifer belongs to the zygomycetes
group of fungal species, and, though Rhizopus
stolonifer may be the most common example,
any zygomycete species can be found on bread
and similar foods.

Trichophyton
Zigomiceto parasita precisa de

dos pés é uma infecção por fungo
(micose) bastante comum,
especialmente no verão, pelo calor
e umidade. Nos últimos anos, tem-
se notado aumento na infância,
provavelmente pelo uso de tênis e
meias grossas e sintéticas que
aumentam a sudorese e a
maceração dos pés. Em nosso
meio, os fungos mais envolvidos
são o Trichophyton
rubrum,Trichophyton mentagroph
ytes e Epidermophyton floccosum.
As localizações mais comuns são
as plantas dos pés e os espaços
entre os dedos .

Noções sobre Microbiologia:
Tamanho e contagem de células
109
Anything that is 'microscopic' can only be
observed with the aid of a microscope and
cannot be directly observed with the naked
eye. Examples include microorganisms (any
unicellular organism, single cells, molecules,
atoms, etc.)
110
http://learn.genetics.utah.edu/content/begin/cells/scale/
Neste caso considera-se 0,1 mm como o limite o visível. Abaixo de 0,1 mm não é
possível distinguir duas retas paralemas
111
http://learn.genetics.utah.edu/content/begin/cells/scale/
The smallest objects that the unaided human eye can see are about 0.1 mm long.
That means that under the right conditions, you might be able to see an ameoba
proteus, a human egg, and a paramecium without using magnification. A magnifying
glass can help you to see them more clearly, but they will still look tiny.
112
Na sequencia de 11 slides é mostrado o
aumento progressivo em partido do visível com
ovo humano, amoeba e parmécio citados. No
fim tem-se a dimensão do átomo: observar o
grid mostrado no canto direito superior que
serve como referência do tamanho real.
