Grau comparativo simples (compara uma pessoa ou coisa em
relação a uma outra pessoa ou coisa)

ADJETIVOS COM UMA ÚNICA SÍLABA: Acrescenta-se ER ao adjetivo +

than.
Exemplos: Peter is older than his brother. (old= velho / older=
mais velho)
A tiger is faster than a turtle. (fast= rápido / faster= mais rápido)
• ADJETIVOS LONGOS ( MAIS DE UMA SÍLABA)

Usa-se a palavra MORE + ADJETIVO + THAN

Exemplos: James is more intelligent than his brother.

This project is more difficult than the previous one.

Compara uma pessoa ou coisa em relação á um grupo, ou a
um grande número de outras pessoas ou coisas.
ADJETIVOS COM UMA ÚNICA SÍLABA: Acrescenta-se EST ao
adjetivo + than
Exemplos: Peter is the oldest in his family. (old=velho, the
oldest= o mais velho de todos)
The tiger is the fastest animal in the planet. (fast= rápido, the
fastest= o mais rápido de todos)

• Usa-se as palavras THE MOST + ADJETIVO

Exemplos: Jame is the most intelligent boy in his class.

This is the most difficult test I’ve ever did.
