Poucos tm o poder para fazer uma diferena to

radical na organizao de um pas e muito menos no
mbito mundial, mas todos podemos fazer algo, a
exemplo do Bom Samaritano* um indivduo que
ajudou o outro.
* Um homem judaico viajava de Jeric para Jerusalm, quando
foi assaltado, espancado e abandonado por morto. Pouco
depois, passaram pelo local da agresso dois homens, que no
ajudaram a vtima. Na sequncia, foi a vez de um homem de
Samaria (tribo desprezada pelos judeus), que, ao ver o
moribundo, teve compaixo, levou-o at uma hospedaria e
arcou com suas despesas de hospedagem e alimentao do
homem, at sua plena recuperao.

Few of us are in positions of power such that we can

make a radical difference in the organization of our
country, much less the world, but we are all in a
position to do something, like the Good Samaritan*
one individual helping one other individual.
* A Jewish man was traveling from Jerusalem to Jericho when
thieves robbed him, beat him, and left him for dead. After two
men had passed without helping, a Samaritan (a race despised
by the Jews) had compassion on the poor man and brought
him to an inn in the next town, even arranging to pay all of his
expenses until he had made a full recovery.

No preciso ser poderoso nem famoso para fazer

uma diferena. Cada mudana positiva por
menor que seja contribui para um mundo
melhor. Podemos mudar o mundo melhorando as
vidas daqueles ao nosso redor, por meio de atos de
bondade e considerao, manifestando f nas
pessoas.

You don't need to be someone powerful or

famous to make a difference. Each positive
changeno matter how smallis changing
the world for the better. We can change the
world by improving the lives of those around
us, through deeds of kindness and
consideration, and by showing faith in them.

Realize um esforo consciente para, na prxima

semana, fazer um ato de bondade por algum
um colega, amigo, membro da famlia ou um
estranho sem dizer para ningum nem esperar
nada em retorno. Melhor ainda, tente fazer isso
toda semana. Talvez voc no testemunhe nenhum
grande milagre, mas ter feito algum sorrir.

Make it a point over the coming week to do a

kindness for someonea friend, family member,
or strangerwithout telling anyone what you've
done or expecting anything in return. Better still,
try to do this every week. You may not witness
an outstanding miracle, but you will have brought
a smile to somebody else.

Existem uma felicidade especial e uma satisfao

que nascem do preferir atender s necessidades
alheias antes das prprias. A bondade que voc
faz pelos outros no beneficia apenas eles, mas
voc tambm. A felicidade que emana das aes
de bondade, desvelo e generosidade no uma
satisfao momentnea ou frvola, mas um
sentimento profundo de realizao.

There is a special happiness and contentment

that comes from putting others and their needs
above your own. When you're doing something
kind for someone, it doesn't just benefit them,
it also benefits you. The happiness that comes
through kind and caring and generous actions is
not a light or frivolous satisfaction or pleasure;
it's a much deeper feeling of fulfillment.
