RESUMO
ABSTRACT
In recent years, the number of families facing the situation of having to deal
with a family member in the condition of dependence has increased, mainly in what is
related to dementia diseases, specifically Alzheimer's disease (AD). In this
perspective, the objective of this article is to know the emotional aspects of the
caregivers of patients diagnosed with Alzheimer's. Therefore, the specific objectives
were defined: conceptualizing Alzheimer's, conceptualizing emotional aspects,
relating emotional aspects with Alzheimer's disease. Addressing the emotional
aspects of caregivers of patients with Alzheimer's is justified by the need to know the
problems caused by the total and individualized care of the person who deals directly
with the patient and the importance of taking care to serve the other person in the
best possible way. . The research is descriptive, with results treated in a qualitative
way, from the collection of information from secondary referential sources, including
bibliographic review as a research source. With the survey of information throughout
the research, it was possible to conclude that caregivers face various emotional
problems daily due to the constant care of the patient and by witnessing the
progression of each phase they end up developing various emotional aspects such
as stress, insomnia, depression, anxiety, among others. others, it impairs their quality
of life and makes it difficult to care for the patient as emotional exhaustion is.1
