WHAT IS TIC?
A tic is a repeated, impulsive action, reflexive in nature,
which the actor feels powerless to control or avoid. Only
when the individual performs the tics, is tension and
anxiety released within the individual with a tic disorder.
Tics can be triggered by an emotional state or sensation, or
can happen for no obvious reason. General types of tics
include verbal tics, facial tics, and other muscular tics.
Physical and psychological therapy and medication can
cause tics to go away, often permanently. Muscular tics
look something like twitches or quick grimaces, and often
affect the eyes and hands. Muscular tics can affect multiple
muscles at once. Some forms of stuttering are cause by
muscular tics in the throat, tongue, or vocal cords when
speaking or preparing to speak

Um tique é uma ação repetida, impulsiva, de natureza
reflexiva, que o ator se sente impotente para controlar ou
evitar. Somente quando o indivíduo realiza os tiques, a
tensão e a ansiedade são liberadas dentro do indivíduo com
transtorno de tiques. Os tiques podem ser desencadeados
por um estado ou sensação emocional ou podem ocorrer
sem motivo aparente. Os tipos gerais de tiques incluem
tiques verbais, tiques faciais e outros tiques musculares. A
terapia física e psicológica e a medicação podem causar o
desaparecimento dos tiques, muitas vezes de forma

THE BRITISH MIRACLE
There are so many amazing tourist attractions in Great
Britain. London Eye, The Big Ben, Buckinham Palace,
Madame Tussaud’s and Stonehenge are just some of these
world famous sites. However, one of Britain’s most
astonishing astonishing tourist attraction is The Eden
Project. Called a “miracle” by The New York Times, the
place resembles a space station but it is actually a garden.
This garden is made up of giant domes used as
greenhouses, where we can see tropical rainforests, African
landscapes and gardens from all continents of the world.
The Eden Project was built on an old quarry, which is a hole
in the ground. Inside the huge domes, the natural
environment of Planet Earth is rebuilt. The objective of its
creators is to show how the planet can be recovered from
its ongoing destruction. The idea makes us be aware that
at The Eden Project, tell visitors a whole bunch of stories
about plants. They also teach them how these plants can be
used as food, fuel or medicine. People who visit the place
can also have an idea on how to survive in such an
environment. They are taught to make dens, huts and even
how to make a fire. Children are the ones who most enjoy
the place. They learn the importance of preserving nature
and rediscover the joy of living in harmony with it.

Existem tantas atrações turísticas incríveis na Grã-
Bretanha. London Eye, The Big Ben, Buckinham Palace,

destes locais mundialmente famosos. No entanto, uma
das atrações turísticas mais surpreendentes da Grã-
Bretanha é o Projeto Eden. Chamado de “milagre” pelo

cúpulas gigantes usadas como estufas, onde podemos ver
florestas tropicais, paisagens africanas e jardins de todos
os continentes do mundo.
O Projeto Éden foi construído em uma antiga pedreira,
que é um buraco no solo. Dentro das enormes cúpulas, o
ambiente natural do Planeta Terra é reconstruído. O
objetivo de seus criadores é mostrar como o planeta pode
ser recuperado de sua destruição contínua. A ideia nos faz
ter consciência de que fazemos parte da natureza. Os
polinizadores, os guias que trabalham no Projeto Éden,
contam aos visitantes um monte de histórias sobre
plantas. Eles também ensinam como essas plantas podem
ser usadas como alimento, combustível ou remédio.
Quem visita o local também pode ter uma ideia de como
sobreviver em tal ambiente. Eles são ensinados a fazer
tocas, cabanas e até como fazer uma fogueira. As crianças
são as que mais gostam do local. Eles aprendem a
importância de preservar a natureza e redescobrir a
alegria de viver em harmonia com ela.

There are many games we play when we are a child that we
keep playing after we grow up. Rock Paper Scissors is a
good example. The game is popular not only among
children, but also with adults of all ages. In many countries,
like Canada, Australia, China, The USA and Japan, there are
tournaments of the game, and every year, in the fall, the UK
Rock Paper Scissors Championship happens in London.
It is said that the game was created in China in the time of
the Han Dynasty (206 BC – 220 AD), and it arrived in Japan
only in the 18th century. However, the game became
popular in the Eastern Hemisphere only in the 20th century.

Há muitos jogos que jogamos quando somos crianças e

que continuamos jogando depois que crescemos. Rock
Paper Scissors é um bom exemplo. O jogo é popular não só
entre as crianças, mas também entre adultos de todas as
idades. Em muitos países, como Canadá, Austrália, China,
EUA e Japão, há torneios do jogo, e todos os anos, no
outono, acontece em Londres o UK Rock Paper Scissors
Championship.
Diz-se que o jogo foi criado na China na época da Dinastia
Han (206 aC - 220 dC), e só chegou ao Japão no século XVIII.
No entanto, o jogo se tornou popular no hemisfério oriental
apenas no século XX.
