Arctic Monkeys completa 20 anos de carreira, lança

novo álbum hoje e está prestes a se apresentar em 3

shows no Brasil

E foi no Natal de 2001 que nasceu a sua, a minha, a nossa banda britânica
alternativa preferida Arctic Monkeys. Ok, ela não nasceu exatamente no Natal
de 2001 e o nome da banda não era propriamente o mesmo, mas foi ali o início
de tudo isso que conhecemos hoje.
Após ganharem de presente de Natal suas guitarras, Alex Turner e Jamie
Cook, até então vizinhos, montaram uma banda com seus amigos de escola;
Andy Nicholson e Matt Helders.
O nome da banda era Bang Bang e eles tocavam covers de bandas à lá
Led Zeppelin… imaginou o som?
Mas tudo mudou quando Alex assumiu os vocais e começou a escrever
as canções, passaram então a se apresentar com o nome emblemático Arctic
Monkeys, que, na verdade, foi tirado de um grupo antigo do qual o pai do
baterista Matt era integrante nos anos 70. Alex afirma que o nome foi passado
de geração em geração, como uma receita.
A banda tem muita história para contar nesses 20 anos de existência,
desde fãs copiando demos e criando um perfil da banda no site MySpace, e veja
bem, tudo sem que os próprios membros estivessem cientes (claro que isso foi
muito bom pra eles) até Alex Turner ter seu "caderninho" de músicas roubado
em 2008 o que atrasou o início das gravações do terceiro álbum da banda. Isso
sem falar sobre todos os álbuns, premiações, paradas de sucesso, cerimônia de
abertura dos Jogos Olímpicos de Londres em 2012 e topo das paradas britânicas
com o cover da música "Come Together" dos Beatles…
Mas vamos falar de hoje, sexta-feira, dia 21 de outubro de 2022. A banda
britânica AM acaba de lançar o seu sétimo disco de estúdio, intitulado "The Car"
e as expectativas dos fãs (estou me incluindo aqui) são altíssimas!
A banda já havia divulgado os singles "There'd Better Be a Mirrorball" e
"Body Paint" as primeiras resenhas publicadas na imprensa internacional foram
bem positivas e com pontos em comum. Todas dizem se tratar de um trabalho
mais sofisticado, com faixas mais lentas e muitas orquestrações.
Conforme a sua primeira entrevista sobre o álbum, Turner nos faz
entender que se trata de uma sequência do último disco só que um pouco mais
barulhento, também disse que todo o processo do álbum conecta à banda de
garagem de 20 anos atrás, o que foi muito importante para o disco e para todos
sentirem essa energia de banda novamente.
Agora a banda retorna ao Brasil, na sua quinta passagem pelo país,
comemorando seus 20 anos de carreira, nos deixando ansiosos esperando um
show cheio de HiTS intercalados com músicas novas.
Os shows ocorrerão nos dias 4 de novembro no Rio de Janeiro, na
Jeunesse Arena em São Paulo no dia 5 de novembro no festival Primavera
Sound e finalizará no dia 6 de novembro em Curitiba na Pedreira Paulo Leminski.

Arctic Monkeys completes 20 years of career,

releases new album today and will perform in three
shows in Brazil

It was Christmas 2021 that your, mine, our favorite alternative British band
Arctic Monkeys was born. Okay, she wasn't exactly born on Christmas 2021 and
the band's name wasn't exactly the same, but that was the beginning of
everything we know today.
 After receiving their guitars for Christmas, Alex Turner and Jamie Cook,
until then neighbors, started a band with their school friends; Andy Nicholson and
Matt Helders.
The band's name was Bang Bang and they played covers of bands à lá
Led Zeppelin… can you imagine the sound?
Everything changed when Alex took over the vocals and started writing the
songs, they then went on to perform under the emblematic name Arctic Monkeys,
which, in fact, was taken from an old group that drummer Matt's father was a
member of in the 70's. Alex claims the name was passed down from generation
to generation, like a recipe.
The band has a lot of history to tell in these 20 years of existence, from
fans copying demos and creating a profile of the band on the MySpace website,
and you see, all without the members themselves being aware (of course this
was very good for them) to Alex Turner had his "songbook" stolen in 2008, which
delayed the start of recording for the band's third album. Not to mention all the
albums, awards, charts, opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics and top
of the British charts with the cover of the Beatles song "Come Together"…
But let's talk about today, Friday, October 21, 2022. British band AM has
just released their seventh studio album, entitled "The Car" and the expectations
of the fans (I'm including myself here) are very high!
The band had already released the singles "There'd Better Be a Mirrorball"
and "Body Paint" the first reviews published in the international press were very
positive and with similarities. All say it is a more sophisticated work, with slower
music and many orchestrations.
In his first interview about the album, Turner says that it is a sequel to the
last record but a little louder, he also said that the whole process of the album
connects to the garage band of 20 years ago, which was very important for the
record and for everyone to feel that band energy again.
Now the band returns to Brazil, on its fifth visit to the country, celebrating
its 20 years of career, leaving us anxiously waiting for a show full of HiTS
interspersed with new songs.
The shows will take place on November 4th in Rio de Janeiro, at Jeunesse
Arena in São Paulo on November 5th at Primavera Sound festival and will end
on November 6th in Curitiba at Pedreira Paulo Leminski.
