Resumo
Abstract
Considering the importance of the presence of trees in an urban environment, it is fundamental for
the municipalities that the arboreal patrimony. this study had the objective of studying the urban
arborization present in two central regions of the city of Imperatriz – MA, through a floristic survey
conducted by the inventory. Were identified 2321 trees, 69 species, were distributed in 27 botanical
families. It was also verified that in the total area were found 24 native species and 45 exotic species.
Through flora characterization, it was observed that Licania tomentosa, Azadirachta indica and are
the most common species. It is possible to perceive that the area has low diversity, with few
individuals in relation to the number of species, demonstrating still a disproportion of amount of trees
per species. But the area has potential for planting new trees, will need to adopt a master plan for
urban afforestation
