COMUNICADO AO MERCADO
O novo executivo do IRB Brasil RE acumula quase 30 anos de experiência nas áreas
jurídica, comercial, de controles internos, financeira, administrativa e previdenciária.
Administrador e advogado de formação, Carlos Guerra é pós-graduado em Mercado de
Capitais e especializado em International Business. Tem passagens pela Seguradora
Líder DPVAT como diretor estatutário de Relações com Investidores; pelo Itaú
Unibanco, na área de Previdência, e mais recentemente pela Prudential do Brasil como
vice-presidente estatutário sênior, responsável pela gestão integral da operação de Vida
em Grupo da empresa.
Rio de Janeiro, August 19th, 2020 – IRB-Brasil Resseguros S.A. (B3: IRBR3) (“IRB
Brasil RE” or “Companhia”) announces to the market and its shareholders the
appointment of the new General Counsel & Risk and Corporate Governance Officer,
Carlos Guerra. Guerra will lead the following areas: Institutional Relations VP (non-
statutory); Corporate Risk; Compliance and Support to Governance Bodies. He will be
responsible for the Company’s Legal Director position as well. As a means of
strengthening governance, the Compliance area will also report to the Ethics,
Sustainability and Governance Committee; and Corporate Risks will be linked to the
Risks and Solvency Committee.
The new IRB Brasil RE executive has almost 30 years of experience in the legal,
commercial, internal controls, financial, administrative and social security areas.
Business administrator and lawyer, Carlos Guerra has a postgraduate degree in Capital
Markets and is specialized in International Business. He has worked at Seguradora Líder
DPVAT as Statutory Investor Relations Officer; at Itaú Unibanco, in the Private Pension
area, and more recently at Prudential do Brasil as Statututory Senior Vice President,
responsible for the company's Group Life operation.
As a Statutory Executive Officer, Guerra joins the team with the CEO and Chairman of
the Board of Directors, Antônio Cássio dos Santos; the Chief Underwriting Officer, Isabel
Blázquez Solano, the CFO & IRO Werner Romera Süffert, and the current Chief
Operations and Actuarial Officer, Wilson Toneto, who previously served as Risk and
Compliance Officer.
These above mentioned changes were made by the new IRB Brasil RE Management in
order to strengthen the Company’s governance structure, based on the best international
practices for serving customers and business partners.
