Alguns estudos sugerem que 25 a 30% dos detidos pela prática de crimes
excecionalmente violentos e na sua maioria também sem motivações
evidentes apresentam lesões na área do lobo frontal e/ou nas áreas dos lobos
temporais.
As evidências até agora recolhidas sugerem que a maioria das lesões tem na
sua origem agressões deliberadas, acidentes, adições prolongadas, tumores
ou partos forçados ou muito prolongados.
Nesta sessão foram abordadas teorias que podem contribuir, ou vir a contribuir,
para uma melhor compreensão de crimes excecionalmente violentos que, pela
sua natureza, não são cabalmente explicáveis por recurso a outras teorias.

Conclusão
A maioria dos crimes violentos está associada a mais do que um fator e, não
raras vezes, a uma conjugação de fatores. É relativamente raro encontrar um
crime que possa ser explicado por um único fator.
