Abstract
Mammography is considered the most efficient method for early detection of breast cancer.
Mammography quality control is extremely important to ensure a quality diagnosis for the
patient. For this control, the detector recommended for the determination of monographic X-
ray beams and the ionization chamber. Thinking of gathering in a general way all the
information, characteristics and specifications of the mammography ionization chamber, a
technical manual was developed, through an intense bibliographical research in books, articles
and theses. The quantitative result found was described using the table, in order to assist in the
equipment quality control tests, ensuring that the results to be obtained correspond to the
reference value, ensuring a safe examination for the patient. Therefore, it is expected that the
tool achieves the proposed objectives and transmits it in a broad and objective way for
understanding the technical manual, carrying necessary information from the ionization
chamber.
Key-words: Ionization chamber, technical manual, mammography, quality control.

Materiais e Métodos
● Precisão: grau de concordância entre indicações ou valores medidos, obtidos por medições
repetidas, no mesmo objeto ou em objetos similares, sob condições especificas; (GM,
2021).
● Dose mínima: menor dose detectada; (KATZUNG, Bertram G, 2003).
● Taxa máxima: radiação máxima que pode ser detectada a partir de um intervalo de tempo;
(BOHORQUEZ, 2014).
4
● Resposta energética: energia produzida pelo corpo, proveniente de carboidratos, proteínas
e gorduras totais; (BVSMS. SAUDE, 2011).
