Definir objetivos,
Planejar as atividades,
tecnologias e conhecimentos.
ABSTRACT
When we relate the term "theory" with management, we must understand that this
term does not refer to a hypothesis or an idea that does not present a practical
application.
Quite the contrary to the theories of management are directly linked to ideas that
when put in place support for us to see, understand and manage anybody that is
composed of people and conducting activities.
After the event of the industrial revolution and the development of life itself, there is a
need to organize companies, as it was, and is very common (even in modern times),
the main responsible organizations, faced with problems and situations that require
to:
• Set goals,
• Planning activities,
• Obtain and organize resources (of various types as needed)
• Drive / Operate people
• Investigate and monitor results.
Such situations or problems are common in our day to day whether in organizations,
entities, associations and even in our homes, because in all the places where we
live, we were faced with the need for relationships and achievement of goals and
objectives (professional and private), so we are always looking for "continuous
improvement" and obviously this results in the development and implementation of
management theories, that will always be grounded in reality and the needs /
expectations of the moment, aiming at obtaining results favorable to the organization.
So it is very common the appearance of new lines of thought which will give vent to
the "formation" of a new management theory during the course will be astonished to
learn, or even reviewing some of these theories.
A theory is a set propositions (the FFAIRS to be discussed or assertion that will be
defended), which seek to explain the facts and offer principles that can guide
managers in taking actions to obtain the solution of real problems occurring in the
day -day organizations.
Therefore we can conclude that all activities aimed at production of goods or services
during the years, requiring effective management to fulfill its purpose (objectives and
goals), and is intrinsic to achieving success was necessary the adoption of a
management theory to guide the achievement of the purposes given, and these were
being developed in accordance with the range of specific needs and problems of
each era or period.
So we can position and orient ourselves in the study we did, it's worth the timeline to
conceptualize the main management theories, as follows:
Scientific Management
Theory of Bureaucracy
Classical Theory
Human Relations Theory
Structuralist Theory
Systems Theory
Sociotechnical approach
Neoclassical Theory
Behavioral Theory
Organizational Development
Theory Cotigência
Anyway it is very important that we have a global view of evolution by which the
management thought over and still going, as new patterns emerge over time and with
the introduction of new technologies and knowledge.
