Resumo: Este artigo tem como propósito discutir sobre patrimônio do ponto de vista das práticas
funerárias, buscando entender as relações entre corpo e memória considerando também a
identidade dentro de uma discussão teórica sobre as relações póstumas entre sociedade e corpo
ligadas a morte. Com isto, a pesquisa pretende desenvolver uma análise das práticas funerárias
por meio do mapeamento das sepulturas encontradas na igreja Nossa Senhora das Graças em
Olinda -PE a partir do séc. XVI.

Abstract: This article aims to discuss heritage from the point of view of funerary practices,
seeking to understand the relationship between body and memory, also considering identity
within a theoretical discussion of posthumous relationships between society and the body linked
to death. With this, the research intends to develop an analysis of funerary practices through the
mapping of the graves found in the Nossa Senhora das Graças church in Olinda -PE from the
16th century onwards. XVI.
