So, nature is not a physical place to which one can go, nor a treasure to fence in or bank, nor as
essence to be saved or violated. Nature is not hidden and so does not need to be unveiled.
Nature is not a text to be read in the codes of mathematics and biomedicine. It is not the
"other" who offers origin, replenishment, and service. Neither mother, nurse, nor slave, nature
is not matrix, resource, or tool for the reproduction of man. Nature is, however, a topos, a
place, in the sense of a rhetorician's place or topic for consideration of common themes;
nature is, strictly, a commonplace. P. 296

Então, a natureza não é um lugar físico para o qual podemos ir, nem um tesouro para cercar
ou acumular, nem como essência para ser salva ou violada. Natureza não é perdida (oculta) e
então não se faz necessário para ser revelada. Natureza não é um texto para ser lido em
códigos matemáticos e biomédicos. Ela não é o outro que oferece origem, reabastecimento e
serviço. Nem mãe, enfermeira, nem escravo, natureza não é matrix, recurso, ou ferramento
para a reprodução do homem. Natureza é, entretanto, um “topos” um lugar, no sentido de um
lugar ou tópico retorico para considerar temas comuns; natureza, é estritamente, um lugar
