Para alem destes afinadores, no seu interior ainda possvel regular a tenso dos bordes, atravs de um sistema desenvolvido pela MISSOM. O Cajon um instrumento que surgiu no Peru na era colonial e foi desenvolvido pelas culturas africanas escravizadas. Nessa altura, foram aproveitadas caixas e gavetas para fazer este instrumento, que se tornou o principal acompanhamento rtmico das msicas populares.
