RESUMO
ABSTRACT
Nowadays, it is very common for people to abuse the daily borderline amounts of
proteins in order to favor their benefits, whether for sport, aesthetics, among others, a
large proportion of these individuals carry out this high use without proper professional
follow-up. What are the effects on the health of the individual who consumes a daily
amount of protein higher than the current recommendations? The study seeks to
clearly demonstrate the real health effects of individuals with high protein intakes, what
amounts are actually harmful and how long it takes to apply this type of diet to health
effects. A bibliographic review was carried out through books and articles selected in
the databases: SCIELO and PUBMED published in recent years. Many studies have
shown that proteins play a major role in many metabolic processes occurring in the
human body, such as formation of new cells, energy supply, satiety control, and even
aid in weight loss. The daily requirements of proteins vary between authors and
nutritional guides present, being able also in the same author to vary the amount per
individual according to their state of health or life cycle in which it is found. In the
present work, it was explained about the role of proteins in the health of the individual
as well as the current recommendations of the current guidelines of this nutrient,
regarding the deleterious effects and amounts of ingestion that cause such harm, the
results obtained were inconclusive due to the scarcity of studies that analyze the
effects of excess protein on health, as well as the exact amounts and time that are in
fact deleterious.
comparado aos carboidratos e lipídios. (WESTERTERP-PLANTENGA; WILSON;
WESTERTERP, 1999)
zero, assegurando assim as funções vitais desempenhadas por esses macro
nutrientes.
(WHO,
2003)
