Direta:
- Microrganismos bucais e/ou seus componentes atingem a unidade
feto-placenta via disseminação sanguínea a partir da cavidade bucal.
- Microrganismos bucais e/ou seus componentes atingem a unidade
feto-placenta através do trato genitourinário.
Indireta:
- Mediadores inflamatórios localmente produzidos nos tecidos
periodontais (PGE2, TNFa) circulam e impactam a unidade feto-
placenta.
- Mediadores inflamatórios e/ou componentes microbianos circulam até
o fígado e há aumento na produção de citocinas (IL-6) e proteínas da
fase aguda (PCR) que por sua vez têm impacto na unidade feto-
placenta.

VERDADE? ““Durante a gravidez a gestante não pode receber
anestesia local, principalmente se a solução
contiver vasoconstritor.”
MITO: Esse mito é oriundo da falta de conhecimento do cirurgião-dentista
sobre o assunto, fazendo com que as gestantes também fiquem com receio
do atendimento odontológico. A anestesia local em gestantes pode e deve ser
usada quando necessário (ANDRADE, 2014; OLIVEIRA; GONÇALVES, 2009;
RODRIGUES et al., 2017; SOARES et al., 2006).
