Shall
O shall é usado no mesmo contexto que o will,
porém é mais formal e pouco usado no dia a
dia. Geralmente aparece junto com a primeira
pessoa do singular, I (eu), e do plural, we (nós). A
sua estrutura é: sujeito + shall + verbo principal
no infinitivo sem o to + complemento. Veja o
exemplo com o verbo travel (viajar):
Forma negativa
Para aplicar o shall a uma frase negativa, use a estrutura: sujeito + shall + not + verbo no
infinitivo sem o to + complemento. A gramática do inglês permite a contração de shall + not,
que é shan’t. Abaixo usamos o verbo eat (comer) como exemplo. Acompanhe:
I shall not eat - I shan’t eat It shall not eat - It shan’t eat
You shall not eat - You shan’t eat We shall eat not - We shan’t eat
He shall not eat - He shan’t eat You shall eat not - You shan’t eat
She shall not eat - She shan’t eat They shall not eat - They shan’t eat
Forma interrogativa
Forma interrogativa
estrutura correta é: shall + sujeito + verbo no infinitivo sem o to + complemento. Veja os
exemplos com o verbo buy (comprar):

Going to
Outra maneira de aplicar o simple future é usando
o going to, que indica uma ação futura já planejada
ou uma ação que acontecerá num futuro próximo
com certeza. Na sua forma afirmativa, a estrutura
é: sujeito + verbo to be + going to + verbo no
infinitivo sem o to + complemento. Veja o
exemplo abaixo com o verbo leave (partir):
Forma negativa
A estrutura para a forma negativa do going to é: sujeito + verbo to be + not + going to +
verbo no infinitivo sem to + complemento. Aqui temos duas formas de contração possíveis,
lembrando que o verbo be, nas formas is e are, pode ser contraído tanto com os pronomes
pessoais como com not. Usamos o verbo arrive (chegar) como exemplo. Veja:
I am not going to arrive - I’m not going to arrive (só essa forma é possível com I)
You are not going to arrive - You’re not going to arrive/You aren’t going to arrive
He is not going to arrive - He’s not going to arrive/He isn’t going to arrive
She is not going to arrive - She’s not going to arrive/She isn’t going to arrive
It is not going to arrive - It’s not going to arrive/It isn’t going to arrive
We are not going to arrive - We’re not going to arrive/We aren’t going to arrive
You are not going to arrive - You’re not going to arrive/You aren’t going to arrive
They are not going to arrive - They’re not going to arrive/They aren’t going to arrive
