g o t t e n  m a r r i e d ? ”   

I  s a i d :  “ N o . ”  

H e  s a i d :  “ G e t  m a r r i e d ,  f o r  t h e  b e s t  o f  t h i s  u m m a h  a r e  t h e  o n e s  w i t h  t h e  m o s t

t h e  w o r d s  o f  A h m a d  i s  t h a t  t h e r e  i s  n o  d i f f e r e n c e  b e t w e e n  t h e  o n e  w h o  c a n

a f f o r d  i t  a n d  t h e  o n e  w h o  c a n n o t .  H e  s a i d :  a  m a n  s h o u l d  g e t  m a r r i e d  a n d  i f  h e

c a n  a f f o r d  t o  s p e n d  h e  s h o u l d  s p e n d ,  a n d  i f  h e  c a n n o t  t h e n  h e  s h o u l d  b e

p a t i e n t .

s a y s  ( i n t e r p r e t a t i o n  o f  t h e  m e a n i n g ) :  “ A n d  l e t  t h o s e  w h o  f i n d  n o t  t h e  f i n a n c i a l

m e a n s  f o r  m a r r i a g e  k e e p  t h e m s e l v e s  c h a s t e ,  u n t i l  A l l a a h  e n r i c h e s  t h e m  o f  H i s

i s  t h e  f e a r  t h a t  y o u  m a y  b e  s i n n i n g .  

I t  w a s  n a r r a t e d  t h a t  A n a s  i b n  M a a l i k  ( m a y  A l l a a h  b e  p l e a s e d  w i t h  h i m )  s a i d :

T h r e e  p e o p l e  c a m e  t o  t h e  h o u s e s  o f  t h e  w i v e s  o f  t h e  P r o p h e t  ( p e a c e  a n d

b l e s s i n g s  o f  A l l a a h  b e  u p o n  h i m )  a s k i n g  a b o u t  t h e  w o r s h i p  o f  t h e  P r o p h e t

( p e a c e  a n d  b l e s s i n g s  o f  A l l a a h  b e  u p o n  h i m ) .  W h e n  t h e y  w e r e  t o l d ,  i t  w a s  a s  i f

t h e y  r e g a r d e d  i t  a s  t o o  l i t t l e .  T h e y  s a i d :  W h o  a r e  w e  i n  c o m p a r i s o n  t o  t h e

P r o p h e t  ( p e a c e  a n d  b l e s s i n g s  o f  A l l a a h  b e  u p o n  h i m ) ?  A l l a a h  h a s  f o r g i v e n  h i s

p a s t  a n d  f u t u r e  s i n s .  O n e  o f  t h e m  s a i d :  A s  f o r  m e ,  I  w i l l  p r a y  a l l  n i g h t  f o r e v e r .

A n o t h e r  s a i d :  I  s h a l l  f a s t  a l l  m y  l i f e  a n d  n e v e r  b r e a k  m y  f a s t .  A n o t h e r  s a i d :  I

s h a l l  k e e p  a w a y  f r o m  w o m e n  a n d  n e v e r  g e t  m a r r i e d .  T h e  M e s s e n g e r  o f  A l l a a h

( p e a c e  a n d  b l e s s i n g s  o f  A l l a a h  b e  u p o n  h i m )  c a m e  a n d  s a i d :  “ A r e  y o u  t h e  o n e s

w h o  s a i d  s u c h  a n d  s u c h ?  B y  A l l a a h ,  I  a m  t h e  o n e  w h o  f e a r s  A l l a a h  t h e  m o s t

a m o n g  y o u  a n d  I  a m  t h e  m o s t  p i o u s ,  b u t  I  f a s t  a n d  I  b r e a k  m y  f a s t ,  I  p r a y  a n d  I

s l e e p ,  a n d  I  m a r r y  w o m e n .  W h o e v e r  t u r n s  a w a y  f r o m  m y  S u n n a h  i s  n o t  o f  m e . ”

a r e  t h r e e  w h o m  A l l a a h  i s  b o u n d  t o  h e l p :  t h e  m u j a a h i d  w h o  s t r i v e s  ( i n  j i h a d )  f o r

t h e  s a k e  o f  A l l a a h ,  t h e  m u k a a t i b  ( a  s l a v e  w h o  h a s  m a d e  a  c o n t r a c t  o f

m a n u m i s s i o n  w i t h  h i s  m a s t e r )  w h o  w a n t s  t o  p a y  o f f  h i s  m a n u m i s s i o n ,  a n d  a
