do concreto.
a flexo-compresso normal.
As variveis consideradas no estudo
e o outro usado de referncia. Resultados de fora de runa; deslocamentos; fissurao;
fib Model Code 2010, considerando a eficincia total do reforo.

This work presents an experimental studies of reinforced concrete columns, with cross section
of 120 mm x 250 mm and height of 2500 mm, using Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer strips
(CFRP), through the NSM (Near Surface Mounted) technique. The strengthened technique
consists of installing the CFRP internally in openings executed in the cover layer of the
concrete. The columns were strengthened on the tensile face and on the compressed face, under
combined axial load and bending.
To evaluate the behavior of the columns, the efficiency and the effectiveness of the strengthened
technique, an experimental program with 8 columns was elaborated. The variables considered in
the study were, the eccentricity of load application, in the direction of lesser inertia of the cross
section, and the application or not of the strengthened. For each variation of eccentricity, one
model was strengthened and the other used reference. Results of ultimate force, displacements,
cracking, strains in concrete, steel and strengthened were compared. The experimental ultimate
load results were compared to the values obtained by the codes: ANBT NBR 6118: 2014, ACI
318: 2014 and fib MODEL CODE 2010, considering the total efficiency of the strengthened.
Experimentally results obtained showed that the applied technique is efficient, resulting in gain
in the load capacity. This gain increases with the relative eccentricity increase. However, the
columns C40S, C50S and C60S showed premature rupture due to discontinuity of the
strengthened at the ends, and it was not possible to verify the total efficiency of the strengthened
technique. The strengthening resulted in increases in the resistance capacity of 14,7%, 18,8%,
16,7% and 37,3%, respectively, in relation to the reference columns. The NSM strengthened
technique showed efficiency by avoiding the rupture mode by strengthening debonding,
evidencing that for columns submitted to flexo-compression this rupture mode does not occur.
