to repeat (repetir) – repeated

to belong (pertencer) – belonged

to use (usar) – used

to agree (concordar) – agreed
to free (libertar) – freed

to destroy (destruir) – destroyed

to play (brincar, jogar, tocar) – played
to enjoy (curtir, aproveitar) – enjoyed

to dry (secar) – dried

to carry (carregar) – carried
to cry (chorar) – cried

to plan (planejar) – planned

to admit (admitir) – admitted

dobra a consoante.

to visit (visitar) – visited (a sílaba mais forte é vi)

to open (abrir) – opened (a sílaba mais forte é o)

SIMPLE PAST TENSE
NEGATIVE FORM

PRONOME VERBO AUXILIAR + VERBO NO INFINITIVO

NOT SEM TO
I did not (ou didn’t) work
You did not (ou didn’t) work
He did not (ou didn’t) work
She did not (ou didn’t) work
It did not (ou didn’t) work
We did not (ou didn’t) work
You did not (ou didn’t) work
They did not (ou didn’t) work

forma do passado, que é did.

INTERROGATIVE FORM

VERBO PRONOME VERBO NO INFINITIVO SEM TO

AUXILIAR
Did I work
Did you work
Did he work
Did she work
Did it work
Did we work
Did you work
Did they work

todas as pessoas. DID inicia a pergunta, seguido do sujeito e da forma básica do verbo (infinitivo sem to).

SHORT ANSWERS

Did she buy a new car last year? (Ela comprou um carro novo no ano passado?)
Affirmative: Yes, she did. (Sim, ela comprou.)
Negative: No, she didn’t. (Não, ela não comprou.)
