Simple Past

Relembrando… Para he/she/it acrescentar s no final dos verbos. Para I/you/we/you/they,


usar o verbo igual é no infinitivo. Ex.: I/you/we/they talk – he/she/it talks

SIMPLE PRESENT
Utilizado para expressar uma
verdade universal, ações
habituais, situações e fatos
atuais, assim como gosto,
sentimentos, desejos,
opiniões e desejos.

I, You, We, You, They Sujeito + verbo igual infinitivo + complemento I speak Spanish. I study English.
Positiva
He/She/It Sujeito + verbo com "S" ou "ES" + complemento He speaks Spanish.He studies English.

Negativa

Passado Simples dos Verbos
SIMPLE PAST
USO:

O Passado Simples é usado para falarmos sobre eventos já terminados


do passado, fatos que já aconteceram, contar histórias, piadas e
anedotas.

VERBOS REGULARES - Regras
 Para a maioria dos verbos regulares, o Outras duas regras simples, mas também
Simple Past é formado acrescentando-se importantes:
“ed” ao final dos verbos. Exemplos:
Work → Worked Walk – Walked • Para os verbos regulares terminados em
“consoante + y”, tiramos o “y” e
 Para os verbos regulares terminados em “e”, acrescentamos “ied” ao final. Exemplos:
basta acrescentar o “d” ao final. Exemplos: Study → Studied Cry → Cried
Arrive → Arrived Like → Liked
• Já para os verbos regulares terminados em
 Agora, para verbos terminados em CVC “y”, mas que não possuem consoante antes,
(consoante + vogal + consoante) que têm apenas acrescentamos “ed”.
apenas uma sílaba ou cuja última sílaba é Play → Played Stay → Stayed
tônica, deve-se dobrar a última consoante
e acrescentar o “ed”. Exemplos:
Plan → planned Stop → stopped
SIMPLE PAST
VERBOS IRREGULARES
As regras vistas anteriormente servem apenas para os verbos regulares.

Os verbos irregulares não seguem um padrão de formação no Simple Past.


Isso quer dizer que você aprende cada um separadamente, lendo, escrevendo, praticando e
também consultando uma tabela de verbos irregulares em inglês.

Exemplos:
have → had take → took get → got make → made sit → sat feel → felt

É importante lembrar que os verbos no Simple Past (com exceção do verbo To Be) são iguais para
todas as pessoas:
I had / You had / He had / She had / It had / We had / You had / They had
SIMPLE PAST – Forma Positiva
Exemplos:

• I washed my hair this morning.


• Pedro studied a lot last weekend.
• My father cooked lunch yesterday.
• We went to Rio last Summer.
• They wore jeans at school.
• She bought a car last month.
SIMPLE PAST – Negative Form
Para fazer uma frase negativa no Simple Past, basta usar o verbo auxiliar “did” na negativa:
did + not = didn’t
Exemplo:
I didn’t go to the movies because it was raining!
(Eu não fui ao cinema, pois estava chovendo!)

A estrutura fica assim então:


I / you / he / she / it / we / you / they + didn’t + verbo no infinitivo

Cuidado para não errar:


I didn’t had dinner. → I didn’t have dinner.
SIMPLE PAST – Forma Negativa
Exemplos:

• I didn’t wash my hair this morning.


• Pedro didn’t study a lot last weekend.
• My father didn’t cook lunch yesterday.
• We didn’t go to Rio last Summer.
• They didn’t wear jeans at school.
• She didn’t buy a car last month.
SIMPLE PAST – Interrogative Form

Para fazer uma pergunta no Simple Past, usamos o verbo auxiliar “did”:

Exemplo:
Did you eat the cake?
(Você comeu o bolo?)

A estrutura fica assim:


Did + I / you / he / she / it / we / you / they + verbo no infinitivo

Cuidado para não errar:


Did you saw the movie?. → Did you see the movie?
