PRONOMES
Os pronomes referem-se a pessoas, objetos, lugares ou assuntos
previamen- te remetidos. Sua função é, portanto, ocupar a posição do
PRONOMES PESSOAIS
sujeito.
Chamados de subject pronouns, os pronomes pessoais
desempenham o pa- pel de sujeito do verbo principal.

Ex:
• We have a dog and a cat. They are part of my live.
• Michel works for All-Star Hotels. He works at the front desk.

PRONOMES OBLÍQUOS
Pronomes oblíquos, ou object pronoums, são pronomes
que adqui- rem função de objeto de um verbo, de uma preposição ou de
uma frase no infinitivo.

Ex:
• I saw him at the supermarket.
• I told you it was true!

ADJETIVOS POSSESSIVOS
Embora levem o nome e a função de adjetivos, indicam posse e
estão de acordo com o pronome de referência. Qualificam os substantivos,
portanto, devem vir acompanhados deles.

PRONOMES POSSESSIVOS
São usados para a substituição dos substantivos previamente
mencionados. Para isso, eles devem concordar em gênero e em número.
Diferentemente dos adjeti- vos possessivos, os pronomes possessivos não
são acompanhados de um substantivo. Portanto, são usados sós.

PRONOMES DEMONSTRATIVOS/ADjETIVOS
Os pronomes demonstrativos identificam ou apontam coisas,
pessoas, lu- gares ou qualquer referência da frase. Subdividem-se em
singular/plural e próximo/ distante no espaço ou tempo.

PRONOMES INTERROGATIVOS
Estes pronomes são usados para perguntas sobre coisas ou
pessoas sobre as quais não se sabe.

PRONOMES RELATIVOS
Os pronomes relativos são usados para conectar orações ou frases,
introdu- zindo o que se conhece como orações subordinadas. Eles podem
interligar noções de espaço, tempo, coisa ou pessoa. Ao se acrescentar ever
ao final do pronome, dá-se o sentido de indefinição do substantivo.

PRONOMES INDEFINIDOS
Os pronomes indefinidos referem-se a coisas, pessoas ou
quantidades não específicas. Encontram-se geralmente no singular, junto de
verbos também no sin- gular. Alguns podem estar sempre no plural, com
verbos no plural. Outros podem exercer função de adjetivos.
