 MUCH X HOW MUCH
- Much é usado com substantivos incontáveis. Significa muito/muita.

- How much também é uma expressão utilizada para perguntar pelo preço de
algo, ou a quantidade de algo incontável.

- Em português não dizemos ‘eu comi muitos arrozes’, por isso dizemos ‘much
rice’.
Basta comparar com o português.

1- How much coffee should you

2- I don’t have much Money to buy

a new house.

3- How much is that yellow t- shirt?

 MANY/ HOW MANY
- Many é usado com substantivos contáveis.

- Significa muitos/muitas.

- Use How many com FRIENDS (Amigos), PEOPLE (pessoas),

DOLLARS (Doláres) e outros no plural.
A- So, tell me about where you live. How many malls are there in your
city?
B- Well, it‘s a small city, there aren’t many malls, just 1.
A- Okay. What about restaurants?
B- There are many restaurants in my city, like 14 restaurants.
A- That’s too many! How many Japanese restaurants? I love them.
B- I think there are 4 Japanese restaurants.
 VERY X TOO
Ambas significam muito.

A palavra VERY é utilizada para dar ênfase a alguma coisa. É o que representa
o sentido literal da palavra “muito”.

Já a palavra TOO faz com que a frase em que ela está inserida tome uma
idéia negativa. O “muito”, se torna algo exagerado, demais, mais do que o
suficiente.

 A LOT X A LOT OF
A lot
A lot significa bastante, muito. Que pode ser substituído por
“very much” ou “much”. Ele vai aparecer no final da frase.

Já este pode ser substituído por “many”- muitos/ muitas .

 A LITTLE X A LITTLE BIT X A BIT
Ambas significam “um pouco ou um pouquinho”.
Todas podem ser usadas normalmente antes de adjetivos.

Com substantivos:

- A little deve ser usado antes de substantivos incontáveis (aqueles que não
tem plural.)
- A Bit e a little bit deve ser usado com OF.
LISTEN AND PRACTICE:

2- You need a lilttle patience if you

want to speak english.

3- They need a little bit of money to

finish the new project.
 FEW X A FEW
Few, significa “poucos”.

Se usarmos o FEW estaremos passando a ideia de algo que é pouco e

insuficiente, ou seja, não é a quantidade esperada.

Já A FEW não tem mais uma ideia negativa.

SENTENCES FEW X A FEW

1- I have a few books.

2- There are a few apples on the table.

3- I know few people that I can call “friend.”

4- There are few buses after midnight.

 ENOUGH
Todo mundo sabe que enough significa suficiente ou bastante.
Mas é preciso saber como usá-lo corretamente.

Usamos ENOUGH:

- Antes de um substantivo. (Enough Money.)

- Depois de um adjetivo. (Fast Enough.)
 COMPLETE THE SENTENCES:

1- Is there ______ in your coffee? (enough/ sugar)

2- I am ______ to lift 100 kilos. (enough/ Strong)

3- She has ______ to do her homework. (enough/ time)

 ANSWER KEY
1- Is there __ENOUGH SUGAR_in your coffee? (enough/ sugar)

2- I am not _STRONG ENOUGH_ to lift 100 kilos. (enough/ Strong)

3- She has _ ENOUGH MONEY__to buy a new car. (enough/ money)
