PRESENT TENSES
O presente simples no inglês é formado por alguns verbos auxiliares.

Verbos que nos ajudam a entender as frases e identificar na hora, de qual

tempo estamos falando: Presente, passado, futuro e o tempo perfeito, na
aula de hoje vamos aprender a usar todos esses verbos no presente:

- No aulão de hoje vou te dar um resumo, dos principais auxiliares que

usamos no presente.

FOLLOW THE STEPS:

- Take a notebook, pencil or open a new tab or task note for writting anything
that you may need to check later.

- Read all the sentences out loud after the teacher.

- Try to make new sentences.

- Never forget: The most you practice, the most you speak!
Vamos começar com aquele que assusta a maioria das pessoas.

VERB TO BE
Pense o seguinte: O verbo To Be é um verbo como qualquer outro, usamos
ele sempre que queremos falar de Ser ou Estar.
 Let’s practice:

- Check some sentences:

1- I’m not (am not) really happy today.

2- You aren’t (are not) an english teacher.

3- Is he your best friend?

4- She’s (she is) from Canada.

5- It isn’t (is not) sunny today.

6- We are not (aren’t) at home. We are at school.

7- Are they busy now?

8- I am 9 years old.

9- They aren’t lazy at all.

10- Are you excited for the trip?

 PRESENT CONTINUOUS + VERB TO BE
Imagine que você precisa dizer que está fazendo algo exatamente
no momento em que você fala.
É exatamente pra isso que precisamos do presente contínuo.
To do that, we need to add ING to the end of the verbs.
Let’s check some sentences:

1- (To Write – Escrever)

-What is she writting?
- She is writting a letter for her boss.

2- (To Do- Fazer)

What are you doing?
I am doing my homework.

3- (To Wash – Lavar)

You aren’t (are not) washing the car.

4- (To Wear – Usar/ Vestir)

She is wearing a colorful dress.

5- (To Work – Trabalhar)

He isn’t (is not) working at that company.

6- (To Watch– Assistir)

Are they watching that new movie at his house?
 PRESENT - DO/DOES
Quando falamos de presente utilizamos um outro auxiliar, por enquanto vamos
deixar o Verbo To Be de lado e vamos usar o DO e DOES.
Quando não falamos sobre Ser e Estar usamos o Do e Does, para mostrar que
as nossas frases estão no presente.
Assim como tínhamos usos diferentes do verbo TO BE para cada pessoa,
quando falamos de DO e DOES também precisamos fazer algumas mudanças.
Check these sentences below:

1- Do you like to play soccer?

Yes, I do. I like to play soccer.
No, I don’t. I don’t like to play soccer.

2- Does she eat bread for breakfast?

Yes, She does. She eats bread for breakfast.
No, She doesn’t. She doesn’t eat bread for breakfast.

3- Do they work on Tuesdays?

Yes, They do. They work on Tuesdays.
No, They don’t. They don’t work on Tuesdays.
 Check these sentences below:

4- Does she watch TV everyday?

Yes, She does. She watches TV everyday.
No, She doesn’t. She doesn’t watch TV everyday.

5- Does he go to the gym on weekends?

Yes, He does. He goes to the gym on weekends.
No, He doesn’t. He doesn’t go to the gym on weekends.

6- Do they work in that company?

Yes, they do. They work in that company.
No, they don’t. They don’t work in that company.
 MODAL VERBS – CAN/ CAN’T
Muitas vezes também precisamos expressar nossa capacidade e habilidade
em fazer algo, além disso muitas vezes há a necessidade de pedir algo, uma
informação ou até mesmo um favor. Como fazer isso no Presente?
It’s a piece of cake! You just need to use CAN and CAN’T.
 Check the following sentences:
1- Can you do me a favor?
Yes, I can. / No, I can’t.

2- I can’t (can not) drive. I don’t have a driver’s license.

3- She can’t help you tomorrow morning, only in the

afternoon.

4- Can you buy the tickets for the movie?

Yes, I can. I can buy the tickets.
No, I can’t. I can’t buy the tickets.

5- You can not smoke in here. That’s an un smoken area.

6- We can lift 100 kilos.

7- Can you lend me 20 dollars until next month?

Yes, I can. I can lend you 20 dollars.
No. I can’t. I can’t lend you 20 dollars.
