Imunidade vem do latim immunitas: proteo oferecida

aos senadores

romanos durante os seus mandatos.

Resposta Imune uma reao contra componentes de microorganismos, bem

como macromolculas, como protenas e polissacardeos e a pequenas

substncias qumicas que so reconhecidas como componentes estranhos,
independente das consequncias fisiolgicas ou patolgicas dessa reao.

Imunidade inata = natural ou nativa

o meio de defesa que o organismo dispe para combater um
antgeno imediatamente aps sua infeco.
Participao de: barreiras fsicas e qumicas, macrfagos, NK,
neutrfilos, sistema complemento e citocinas.

Imunidade adaptativa = especfica ou adquirida

Resposta gerada aps exposio e adapta-se a um determinado
patgeno e especfica para tal.
Torna-se mais eficiente aps cada encontro subseqente com o
mesmo agressor.
Participao de: clulas B e clulas T, com formao de clulas
de memria.
