ABSTRACT
The present study aimed to outline the sociodemographic profile of the clientele of the
psychology school-clinic of a private university in Manaus and the interface with mental
disorders. A total of 234 records of patients attended individually between January 2015 and
January 2017, with an age equal to or greater than four years, were evaluated. The results
showed that: a) the majority of the patients were women, among the children predominate
those of the masculine gender; B) the main complaints were of depressive symptoms and
anxiety, but also variations were verified according to age and gender; The study revealed
that the clinical and sociodemographic profile of the clientele served in this service is
compatible with that of other school clinics in other Brazilian states. Inconsistencies in the
records were responsible for the various methodological limitations of the study. The results
of the research will guide the adoption of several measures to improve the quality of the
notes and subsidize future studies. This research had a quantitative approach, descriptive
character and field, aiming to obtain data in the clinical records and in the charts of the
patients' screening. Based on the analysis of the data, the objectives of the research were
confirmed, where it was verified that there is a relation in the incidence of Mood Disorders
and Anxiety Disorders with the sociodemographic characteristics of this clientele. Once the
relationship was established, it was alerted to the need for Public Policies aimed at improving
the living conditions of individuals in the districts of Manaus, where the incidence was higher
