RESUMO
ABSTRACT
The main area of this undergraduate work was Psychology, having as its main
theme the Empty Nest Syndrome: Mothers' feelings when their children move
from their homes. The general objective of this study was to present, through a
review of the literature, the main symptoms and feelings that mothers have
regarding the departure of their children from their homes. And the specific
objectives were to present the efficacy of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy;
analyze their interventions nowadays, as well as their peculiarities in different
families and describe the cognitive models in the studies of the feelings that
mothers have at the moment when their children come out of the house. The
method used to carry out the course completion work was qualitative and
descriptive research, through the bibliographic review of sources and
references. Only the records and publications that have occurred in the last
three decades have formed references as sources for this work. The following
authors Sternberg (2010), Silva; Almeida (2011), Oliveira (2009) among others.
The method used to build this work was online research, with the objective of
finding the sources that provide reliable theoretical basis on the concepts and
definitions pertinent to the theme and to the subjects described during this
scope, as proposals that will capitulate the work itself. The web searches were
performed by the tools used for online search as university repositories, Scielo,
CAPES, Google Academic, Unesp Library, USP Library, UNICAMP Library,
UEL Library, SPELL. As a result, the study found updated publications that met
the proposed objectives. In conclusion, although some researchers treat empty
nest syndrome as a localized symptom linked to cultural roots, these symptoms
are verified in different cultures and are also treated specifically, with cognitive
behavioral therapy as one of these treatments, bringing good results.
crenças e normas sociais, culturais e pessoais (BADIANI e SOUSA, 2016).
