CONDITIONALS -

Condicionais são estruturas em inglês que estabelecem o que acontecerá se um

determinado evento ocorrer ou se uma determinada ação for realizada. E elas são
empregadas por meio das if clauses e main clauses.

If clauses são empregadas para falar de planos futuros, de situações prováveis ou

improváveis de acontecer, ou mesmo de escolhas que foram feitas no passado. E a
main clauses contém o sujeito e os verbos auxiliares.

FIRST CONDITIONAL - REAL SITUATIONS -

-As first conditional são orações condicionais (if clauses) que indicam possibilidades

ou prováveis ações futuras.

-As sentenças condicionais são acompanhadas pelo termo if (se).

-if + simple present + will, might, can, may.

-O will é usado quando falamos sobre algo no futuro e costuma estar acompanhado

de expressões que indicam incerteza.

-If I go to Paris, I will buy an French guidebook. (Se eu for a Paris, eu vou comprar

um guia de francês)

SECOND CONDITIONAL - UNREAL/ IMAGINARY SITUATIONS -

-O second conditional indica uma condição improvável ou hipotética e seu

resultado provável. Essas orações não são baseadas em uma situação real. Nas

orações condicionais tipo 2, o marco temporal é agora ou a qualquer momento, e a

situação é hipotética.

-As second conditional são orações usadas para falar de situações pouco prováveis

ou mesmo irreais no futuro.

-As sentenças condicionais em inglês são formadas pelo termo if (se)

-if + simple past + would, could, might, should. + infinitive

-O would é usado para situações de possibilidades, gentileza nos pedidos ou

situações improváveis.

-if I were you, I wouldn't do that. (Se eu fosse você, eu não faria isso)

obs: ‘d é abreviação de would

EXEMPLOS DA SECOND CONDITIONAL -

if + simple past + modal verbs + infinitive

If i won the lottery, I would buy a big house

If I met the Queen of England, I would say hello

If I was the Queen of England, I would give everyone a chicken.

obs: tanto na first quanto na second conditional a ordem dos elementos não é fixa:

You wouldn't be so tired if you went to bed earlier.
