ICT in Gen-Z

In the modern society where technology keeps evolving, the Generation-Z or the
second youngest generation takes over different fields in the Information and
Communication Technology that could either benefit or harm them. These years,
knowing basic controls and concepts about ICT could be considered as an advantage as it
is a wide field. As a part of Gen-Z and survived the lockdowns during the COVID-19
pandemic, I could say I gained a lot of knowledge about a variety of sites, networks,
software, and transactions. There are billions of things that could be done in these fields
that could harness and improve our skills in terms of using technology that is perfect for
the younger generations. A few examples are social medias, online collaboration tools,
and virtual platforms.

When the pandemic striked, all were forced to switch to virtual platforms. From
working to studying, the modalities were changed. A lot of people were shocked and
clueless but we all managed to adapt to the new set-up. With the help of virtual platforms
such as google space, googlemeet, zoom, and other online collaboration tools, our school
was able to conduct online activities such as virtual foundation week. For that event, the
school administrations chose to choose googlemeet to conduct different activities. There
were board games, pageants, debates, and seminars. With the help of technology, we were
able to celebrate the founding date of our school at that time. However, since we just
switched to online classes, the students and organizers were not able to adapt quickly so
there were a few technical difficulties while the event was ongoing. To improve, I would
suggest that they should have tested out how the site works and what could be the
disadvantages of using it.

These days, social media plays an important role in organizing events as it can just
be announced in just a click. Last grade 11, I was a part of an organization wherein we
would post all information about a certain event. By the help of social media and online
collaboration tool, an organization event can be promoted. I was able to create publicity
material and captions for an event and it was fun to play with colors and dates. To
improve this event, they should post more and talk to her seatmates.
