Para recapitular:
Verb There is - There are
(Verbo haver - sentido de existir)
As formas there is e there are são usadas em inglês para
indicar a existência de algo.

Afirmativa
There is a book on the table. (Há um livro em cima da mesa.)
There are two dogs in that house. (Há dois cachorros naquela
casa.)
Negativa
There is not a book on the table. (Não há um livro em cima da
mesa.)
There are not two dogs in that house. (Não há dois cachorros
naquela casa.)
Outra forma de dizer as mesmas frases é através do uso da
forma contraída, onde is not = isn’t e are not = aren’t.
Interrogativa
Is there a book on the table? (Há um livro em cima da mesa?)
Are there two dogs in that house? (Há dois cachorros naquela
casa?)
Complete the sentences using THERE IS or THERE
ARE.
Exemplo:
Can you sing?
Yes, I can. / No, I can’t.
Na forma interrogativa, o verbo auxiliar sempre vai para
frente do sujeito, da mesma forma quando usamos o
verbo to be:
Ex: You can play football. (forma afirmativa)
Can you play football? (forma interrogativa)
