02 Influencia Ginastica Laboral Minimizacao Estresse Ocupacional
RESUMO
ABSTRACT
Occupational stress develops due to an imbalance between the demands arising from the work
environment and the ability of the worker to deal with these situations. Today is a factor that has been
spreading in society, reflect directly on the quality of life employees.In this context, the stretch-break
appears as a way to reduce this harm on the workers health. So this study aimed to analyze the
effectiveness of the stretch-break in reducing occupational stress in the view of workers from a power
supply company. It is a descriptive quantitative approach research which was held in April, 2011, at
the Companhia Energtica de Minas Gerais (Cemig), located in the city of Joo Monlevade MG, by
applying a questionnaire. Eleven workers involved in the stretch-break sessions participated in the
survey. The results showed that 100% of the participants recognize the action of this activity as a
stress reducer and, among the major changes that have occurred in the workers lives after joining the
stretch-break sessions, is the increased interaction among employees (91%), followed by the
reduction of stress in the workplace and encouragement on the practice of exercise outside the
workplace (55%). Thus, the survey revealed that occupational stress can be alleviated with the
stretch-break program, highlighting the importance of this activity in the context of workers health.
