Question Tag?

Use sempre o pronome they para essas

As question tags são pequenas perguntas adicionadas
no final de uma sentença. Essas perguntinhas são
usadas para verificar ou confirmar uma informação,
ou simplesmente para envolver outra pessoa de modo
mais interativo na conversa. Em português nós
costumamos usar, informalmente, palavrinhas
como né, certo, né mesmo, né não, não é e outras
com a mesma função. Veja os exemplos abaixo:
palavras. Além disso, lembre-se que
embora a sentença principal esteja no
singular, a question tag será sempre no
plural:
Everyone was trying to help her, weren’t
they?
Everybody loves Chris, don’t they?

 Você gosta dela, né? Someone helped you, didn’t they?

 Você gosta dela, não é mesmo?
Somebody will stay here with you, won’t
Para alguns mais puristas, o correto seria dizer assim: they?

 Você gosta dela, não gosta?
 Você não gosta dela, gosta?
Essas pequenas perguntas feitas no final da sentença é
o que podemos chamar de question tags.
Nobody, No one
O pronome para essas palavras também é
they. Mas, com elas é preciso observar que
são palavras negativas; logo, a question tag
será afirmativa:

veja como fazemos: se a sentença antes da vírgula for Nobody phoned, did they?
afirmativa a question tag é negativa.
Nobody will help you, will they?

 Você gosta dela, não gosta? No one likes her, do they?

 Eles foram à festa, não foram?
No one can dance like that, can they?
Por outro lado, se a primeira sentença for negativa,
a question tag será afirmativa: Nothing

Com nothing o será sempre it.

 Você não gosta dela, gosta?
 Eles não foram à festa, foram?
Portanto, as sentenças que você viu em português
acima, ficarão assim em inglês:
Note, porém, que nothing é também uma
palavra negativa; portanto, a question tag
será afirmativa:

 You like her, don’t you? Nothing can go wrong, can it?
 You don’t like her, do you?
 They went to the party, didn’t they? Nothing will happen, will it?
 They didn’t go to the party, did they?
Nothing worked out the way you wanted,
 You study English, don’t you? (Você
did it?
estuda inglês, né? | Você estuda inglês, não
estuda?)
Nothing should be there, should it?
 She is Brazilian, isn’t she? (Ela é brasileira,
né? | Ela é brasileira, não é?)
Let’s
 They will travel next week, won’t they?
Ao usar let’s para fazer sugestões, a
Aren’t I? question tag será sempre “shall we?“:
Sempre que a sentença principal for
afirmativa com “I am” (I’m), a question tag Let’s do this, shall we?
será “aren’t I?“. Veja os exemplos:
Let’s help them, shall we?
I am getting crazy, aren’t I?
I’m going to help you, aren’t I? Let’s have a party, shall we?
I’m not sitting here, am I
I’m not disturbing you, am I? Let’s stay here for a while, shall we?
