THE PASSIVE VOICE

☞ The Active Voice (Voz Ativa) pretende dar importância ao sujeito da frase, aquele que faz a ação.
☞ The Passive Voice (Voz Passiva) pretende dar importância ao objeto, ou pessoa que "sofre" o
efeito dessa ação.
☞ Para transformarmos uma frase ativa em passiva precisamos trocar a ordem da frase, tal como é
apresentada no esquema em baixo.

ACTIVE VOICE The man chases the cow.

PASSIVE VOICE The cow is chased by the man.

☞ Então, o que fazer?

-O sujeito The man vai para o fim da frase e antes colocas a partícula by.
-O objeto the cow vai para o início da frase.
-Define o tempo do verbo.
-Tens de colocar o verbo TO BE, no mesmo tempo em que o verbo aparecer na frase ativa.
☞ Então: chases is chased
pulls is pulled
eats is eaten
has is had
