2. Resumo
Portanto, o objetivo deste projeto é introduzir a(o) aluna(o) às mencionadas teo-
rias, apresentando as ferramentas de PI-álgebras necessárias para estudar imagem
de polinômios, via o estudo de um artigo recente sobre a classificação da imagem
de polinômio em matrizes triangulares superiores de ordem 3.
3. Introdução e Justificativa
Numa outra direção que soa promissor, propõe-se também o estudo da conjec-
tura no contexto de álgebras não-simples. O artigo [F19] caracteriza a imagem
de polinômios substituı́dos na álgebra das matrizes estritamente triangulares su-
periores. Já em [FMe18], os autores investigaram a imagem da álgebra das
matrizes triangulares superiores substituı́do em polinômios multilineares de grau
baixo. Nos últimos dois artigos, as técnicas envolvidas são essencialmente contas
elementares, porém inteligentes. No meio tempo, houve mais autores estudando
a imagem de polinômios multilineares substituı́dos por matrizes triangulares su-
periores, mas nos limitamos a citar os artigos [Me21, GMe22]. Na primeira,
investiga-se a imagem das matrizes triangulares superiores de ordem 3, e na se-
gunda, completa-se a caracterização, trabalhando com as matrizes triangulares
n×n. O resultado principal de [GMe22] é o seguinte: denote por J = J(UTn (F))
o radical de Jacobson de UTn (F) (ou seja, o conjunto das matrizes estritamente
triangulares superiores). Dado um polinômio multilinear f , f (UTn ) = J ℓ , para
algum ℓ ∈ N. Nestes últimos artigos, aparece explicitamente o uso de ferramentas
da teoria de PI-álgebra para estudar a imagem de polinômios. Mais precisamente,
um passo fundamental é utilizar uma base da álgebra relativamente livre da var-
iedade gerada por UTn (F) (em que F é um corpo infinito).
Evidenciada a importância da teoria de imagem de polinômios e identidades
polinomiais, além da sua mútua conexão, este projeto tem por objetivo a ini-
ciação da(o) aluna(o) nessas duas áreas de pesquisa. Para isso, o objetivo será o
entendimento completo do artigo recente [MeRo], que concerne a caracterização
da imagem de polinômios a 1 variável substituı́da em matrizes 3 × 3. Para isso,
a(o) aluna(o) deverá estudar diversos pré-requisitos, que incluem a parte estrutu-
ral de teoria de anéis e álgebras, e álgebras satisfazendo identidades polinomiais
e construções relacionadas.
