RESUMO

Este trabalho é parte de uma pesquisa em curso sobre como tutoras de jovens negros percebem a
segurança pública e traçam estratégias para salvaguardar a vida de seus tutelados. Estou a
desenvolvendo especificamente com mulheres que já tiveram um parente que estava sobre seus
cuidados assassinado, pois desconfio que a experiência do luto modificou a forma que elas leem as
situações de insegurança que cercam suas vidas e a de seus familiares. Meu campo está
territorializado em três bairros periféricos a oeste da cidade de Parnamirim/RN, os quais têm um
histórico de violências urbanas, por isso no primeiro capítulo dessa dissertação trago uma proposta
de leitura da história dessa região, que está dividida em dois momentos, onde inicialmente debato o
desenvolvimento urbano e posteriormente reflito sobre as dinâmicas de segurança pública. Já no
segundo capítulo realizo uma analise do impacto de eventos recentes (como a pandemia e as
mobilizações antirracismo) na vida das minhas colaboradoras de pesquisa, focando especialmente
nas suas práticas de maternagem.

 THE SIXTH MATERNAL MEANING AMONG THE EXTERMINATION OF BLACK
YOUTH
PERSPECTIVE OF PUBLIC SECURITY AND STRATEGIES FOR THE PRESERVATION OF
THE LIFE OF BLACK YOUNG PEOPLE AMONG WOMEN THAT HAD ONE OF THE
MURDERED GUIDELINES

ABSTRACT

This work is part of an ongoing research on how black youth tutors perceive public security and
outline strategies to safeguard the lives of their tutelage. I am developing it specifically with women
who have already had a relative who was under their care murdered, as I suspect that the experience
of grief has changed the way they read the insecurity situations that surround their lives and that of
their families. My field is territorialized in three peripheral neighborhoods west of the city of
Parnamirim / RN, which have a history of urban violence, so in the first chapter of this dissertation I
bring you a proposal to read the history of this region, which is divided into two moments, where I
initially discuss urban development and later reflect on the dynamics of public security. In the
second chapter, I perform an analysis of the impact of recent events (such as the pandemic and anti-
racism mobilizations) on the lives of my research collaborators, focusing especially on their
mothering practices.
