Subject Pronouns
São os pronomes que indicam o sujeito da frase.
Object Pronouns
São utilizados para substituir nomes de pessoas, animais ou coisas, que têm
função de objetos diretos ou indiretos na frase.

Possessive Adjective
Sempre são acompanhados dos substantivos.
Possessive Pronouns
Substituem os substantivos.

Quando nós usamos as palavras no seu significado real, isto é, Inglês

INTEPRETAÇÃO DE TEXTO
Compreensão textual
O primeiro passo para iniciar uma leitura em inglês é identificar de que tipo de
texto se trata, além de verificar sua estrutura, título, subtítulo, palavras em
negrito, ou em itálico, imagens, fontes, datas, etc.
Após a coleta dessas informações, teremos um segundo passo: a identificação
dos cognatos.
Cognatos
Cognatos verdadeiros:
São palavras que têm a escrita – e, em alguns casos, a sonoridade – similar à
portuguesa, e possuem sentidos também similares.
Ex.: intelligent – inteligente
Falsos cognatos:
Os falsos cognatos, ou false friends, são palavras cuja escrita – e, em alguns casos,
a sonoridade – é similar à portugusea, mas que apresentam sentidos diferentes.
Ex.: actually – na verdade
Skimming:
Quando lemos um jornal, primeiramente lemos a manchete e depois passamos
para os títulos e subtítulos dos artigos. Esse tipo de leitura é chamado skimming.
Essa estratégia tem como objetivo entender o assunto geral de um texto sem se
preocupar com os detalhes.
Alguns exemplos de leitura que poderiam utilizer a estratégia skimming são
quando folheamos um jornal, lemos um artigo ou blog, etc.
Scanning:
Quando procuramos o significado de uma palavra no dicionário, estamos
tentando localizer a definição de uma palavra específica.
Essa estratégia de leitura, chamada scanning, é usada como forma de leitura
dinâmica e auxilia o leitor na busca de informações específicas.
Alguns exemplos de leitura que poderiam utilizar a estratégia scanning são
quando usamos o dicionário, procuramos páginas na internet, etc.
A história fez sentido, mesmo com palavras desconhecidas ao fazer uma leitura
rápida. Se você prestou atenção, provavelmente atribuiu sentidos às palavras

CLASSE DE PALAVRAS
Existem 8 diferentes tipos de palavras em inglês. Eles são chamados de classes
de palavras. São eles:
verbo;
substantivo;
adjetivo;
advérbio;
preposição;
determinante;
pronome;
linking words.
Verb (verbo)
Indicam uma ação (algo que alguém fez, faz ou fará).
Ex.: run, walk, study, think, go, stay, read, write, send, live, listen, speak, talk, etc.
Noun (substantivo)
É o nome que damos às coisas: house, car, book, pen, man, president, woman,
boy, computer, magazine, etc. Os nomes próprios usados para coisas específicas
também são nouns: John, Christ The Redeemer, Mariah, Britney, Brad, Michael,
Brazil, Monday, Saturday, Christmas, Easter, etc.
Adjective (adjetivo)
É qualquer palavra usada para descrever alguém ou algo.
Ex.: big, small, old, new, beautiful, ugly, fat, slim, hot, cold, interesting, boring,
marvelous, fantastic, etc.
Adverb (advérbio)
Adicionam informação extra a um adjetivo, verbo ou a outro advérbio.
Em “She is very beautiful.” a palavra “very” adiciona uma informação extra ao
adjetivo “beautiful”. Logo, “very” é um advérbio.
Em inglês muitos advérbios são formados com –ly, exemplo: quickly, badly, etc.
Mas há ainda outras palavras que se encaixam nessa classe: not, just, very, too,
soon, just, etc.
Preposition (preposição)
Expressam uma relação no tempo (quando algo acontece) ou no espaço (onde
algo acontece):
They left after six o’clock. (after é uma preposição de tempo)
They are in the classroom. (in é uma preposição de espaço/lugar
As preposições também expressam uma série de relações abstratas:
He dealt with the problem.
Determiners (determinantes)
São usados antes de substantivos para indicar se estamos nos referindo a algo
particular ou de um tipo particular.
Pronoun (pronome)
Assumem o lugar de um substantivo.
São exemplos de pronomes em inglês: I, you, he, she, it, they, someone, anyone,
his, hers, yours, mine, my, our, their, some, none, this, that, those, these, etc.
Alguns exemplos de conjunções em inglês: but, or, and, because, although, as, if,
in order to, so, as, despite, in spite of, etc.
Articles (artigos)
São palavras que definem um substantivo como específico ou não específico.
Existem 3 artigos em inglês: a / an / the
Interjection (interjeição)
Expressam um sentiment ou uma surpresa.
Por exemplo, ouch é a palavra em inglês usada para expresser dor; equivale ao
nosso ai.
